96TurboTA 11-28-2007, 03:27 PM looks pretty good.
RealQuick 11-28-2007, 03:32 PM Thanks. It looks better in person. The guy buying the kit is going to have it professionally coated.... should look sexy.
Jon
T/A lt1 11-28-2007, 05:57 PM Ohhh Ahhh looks pretty interesting. Lets see some dyno numbers. Wish I had the funds to start a turbo project now. Nice work.
JohnnyPappis 11-28-2007, 05:58 PM Thanks. It looks better in person. The guy buying the kit is going to have it professionally coated.... should look sexy.
Jon Im sure he will be pleased :D
LT1-TA 11-28-2007, 08:18 PM Jon.
Im positive you can fit a 3.5" downpipe right there. If I was to have a turbo with that large of a outlet that is what i would have went for. My 3" fits nice and i know a 3.5" ovaled a little in the right spots would work. Something to think about for the next kit.
Looks good. Looks like you are getting the hang of the process!!

Thanks Nick. Yeah, unfortunately with the stock K I didnt want to gamble. I wish I had an extra tubular K for mockup. I think I could see a 4" then.
This set of hotparts only took ~3 weeks to make... getting a little quicker as I go.

RealQuick 11-28-2007, 11:50 PM Goal was 850rwhp thru an auto... shouldnt be a problem with a good setof heads and cam.

Oh and Jon Check out the sig :D
RealQuick 11-29-2007, 09:33 AM haha... nice Ron, did you copy and paste that out of Justin's sig :p
DJ, see you sunday.
leadfoot94 11-29-2007, 03:32 PM I don't know if its just me, but that front crossover seems like it sits awfully low being under the swaybar.

Its just you ... :p Its only ~1" lower than the bottom of the K last time I looked. Considering some LS1 turbo kits run whole pipes under the k-member, I think its fine.

Maybe i did :D I figured it would be a good way to show my support!

Well with a Tubular K-member 4" would be CAKE!!
I see no problems with a 3.5"... tight squeeze though and downpipe would almost have to be built on the car. Three fits nice.
Not too bad at all on the time.... Not long and you will be whippin out in a week (Kyle did an amazing job with the time he had with my car (week)... and im sure my help didn't speed up the process much).
RealQuick 11-29-2007, 07:51 PM When I do my own T88 kit I will build the DP while the kit is on my car (4" with tubular K).

I could mock it up on my car in the future. I would only need the support braclet I made for the turbo. I could mockup my T88 on the bracket and then run the 4" off the turbo,

Awsome! :D
F.I.94z 11-29-2007, 09:10 PM Do you have to stand the rad. up to make it work with the turbo? It looks great!! It should be fun.
Buck

Should be good with slimmer fans only. The compressor housing is turned anough that the inlet of the compressor shouldnt be an issue like it was with the log. With the log the inlet is tight up against the fans.
RealQuick 11-30-2007, 10:14 AM Checked he height last night to see how low the pipe was in front of the K-member and I was wrong what i stated before :(
K-member sits 13.5" off the ground
Lowest portion of the pipe sits 13" off the ground
It only hangs down 1/2":D
cndctrdj 11-30-2007, 12:02 PM if i get my new kmember before you start my kit you can have it with you to mock up anything you want
RealQuick 11-30-2007, 12:59 PM if i get my new kmember before you start my kit you can have it with you to mock up anything you want
Is that your way of saying you want a free install :p
xxsaint69x 12-01-2007, 11:29 AM looks great! exactly what i am looking for! Someone needs to buy my damn supercharger kit!:mad:
RealQuick 12-01-2007, 01:33 PM Thanks Marcin! I thought you were parting your car out?

na...its running again...it was just a fauled sparkplug lol
evilundisguised 12-02-2007, 08:19 PM Hey Jon, when you run your exhaust back past the oil filter on these kits, do you keep it on the driver's side all the way to the back of the car? I'm trying to figure out how to route a 3.5 or 4" pipe over to the passenger side without putting it too close to the ground...
RealQuick 12-02-2007, 08:22 PM The customer is required to connect the DP to their catback... so I would recommend swinging over to the pass. side in the same spot as a y-pipe for LT's (I think it crosses over near the tail shaft of the tranny).

I'll have to look into that. You don't happen to have any pics of installs like this, do ya?
RealQuick 12-02-2007, 09:23 PM I dont. You need to find some nice underneath pics of a car with a mufflex y-pipe or some sort of y-pipe for LT's.

1982z28with18s 12-03-2007, 01:26 AM If I ever get my car on my buddies lift I'll get some pics of how we did my exhaust. It's all 3" coming from the drivers side by the oil filter, back just behind the tranny and crossing over to the passenger side, then back to an 18" bullet. It's VERY quiet, and my car has been mistaken for a v6 already, LOL.
RealQuick 12-03-2007, 02:42 PM This is from Jim's car at speedinc. Its an LT1 setup... with TT's. Ignore the piping on the pass. side... the driver's side is where your DP would be, and it just crosses over like the one here. You can do a bunch of difference ways... down near the tailshaft of the tranny gives you the most room.

Nice, I guess there's some room to play under there after all. thanks!
