Matching Converter Q's Inside...

Plan on running a bolt-on, mild cammed, stock headed '93Z w/700R4 at the LTX shootout as my '95 is not ready. Along with this, car has 3.73's, and will be running a 125-shot for the event.

Without overkilling what I actually need, as this car is my daily driver, lol, help with converter choice would be much appreciated.

I just had my tranny rebuilt and I got a Midwest 2800 stall from PATC along with a B&M supercooler with thermostatic control and builtin electric fan and I'm very happy with it so far. Also I've read that for bolt on cars that 2800 is about the best stall range to use to keep the streetability.

Iv'e posted this a few times already but this would be a good place to state it again. I went from a 2800 Vig. to a 3600 Yank and the car drives no different as far as I can tell. Both are very good converters and it hardly takes any gas pedal at all to get the car moving with the 3.73 gears. With the 3.23s the Vig seemed a little loose the first few days I drove it. But you get use to it pretty quick.
When talking to the guy at Yank, he mentioned the 3600 stall rating would be more like a 4k on a 150 shot. I have not tried this yet as I have only played with the nitrous on 4 runs. On at 4k, and off at 6k, with the trans shifting at 6300. When the car hits the track next year, I'll set the nitrous to come on at 3200 and see what happens. That and I'm saving for a built trans, so I can spray through the shifts. The 2-3 shift wasn't very happy with me when I tried spraying through the shifts that one time.
