I wouldn't buy a lug nut from Hennessey, much less a homebrewed car. At the risk of extreme understatement, he is not exactly known for either high ethical standards or high levels of craftsmanship.

Whenever someone mentions Hennessey my mind flashes to that not-so-flattering thread he posted in on that Chrysler forum a few years back. I'd never seen someone act so childish and idiotic when someone dared to question his ethics/business practices. The way that thing spread around the 'net like wildfire, I think he lost serious credibility in enthusiast circles.

It's a Lotus Elise with a 1000 HP V10. Not a bad idea, but if Hennessey is building it, I'd stay away.

About Hennessey Performance Engineering

Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) specializes in designing, testing, manufacturing and selling high-performance parts and services for the Dodge Viper SRT10, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Chrysler 300C SRT8 and Dodge Magnum SRT8 as well as other high performance and exotic brands such as Bentley, AMG Mercedes and Porsche. HPE is completing the construction of the company's new 30,000 square foot engineering and manufacturing facility at the company's Lonestar Motorosports Park - a 1/4 mile dragstrip located 45 minutes west of Houston, Texas. HPE is the only aftermarket tuning firm in North America that owns and operates its own vehicle testing track / proving grounds. The company will move to its new facility at the end of 2007.
Despite all the people that have been screwed by Hennessey, it appears that business is booming.

Although I don't personally know the guy, I have seen numerous threads where he carries on like a two year old hurling insults and a total lack of caring when people demand answers about their cars or parts. Questions that always come up are why their cars have shoddy work, why people didn't get the parts they paid for, why are their orders way over the quoted cost, why he sold parts from their cars while he had them, and/or why are their orders taking more time that they were supposed to take.

But I guess if people are nice enough to write glowing reviews like this for the guy, I guess some old geezer with more money than common sense will be ripe for the taking.

That's not a glowing review, that's the "corporate bio" they put on the end of their own press releases. THEY (or a PR hack working for them) wrote that.

What pisses me off is that magazines still write articles about him. Anyone that doesn't have internet is going to be in for a big surprise if they buy from him.

He was getting his *** sued off some years back? What was the outcome of that case? How is he still around?
I thought he was in major debt back then and about ready to lose his house?
