BFG t/a drag VS. BFG t/a kdw 2afr lt1 11-14-2007, 01:21 PM Whos got some input on these? I need tires for a 3 season daily driver. jaykar 11-14-2007, 01:55 PM KDW Drag- early summer-Mid summer-Late summer:) KDW street- Spring-Summer-Fall-Winter:) Later;) FivePoint7z28 11-14-2007, 02:24 PM There's not really a way to compare the two tires. They are totally different. But using a couple KDW's in the front and a couple Drags in the back is a nice setup. 96 Z 28 11-14-2007, 03:57 PM There's not really a way to compare the two tires. Probably not so good in the rain though:rolleyes: If you are looking to drive the car everyday the KWD2s will give up some dry traction for wet traction:thumb: FivePoint7z28 11-14-2007, 04:52 PM Probably not so good in the rain though:rolleyes: If you are looking to drive the car everyday the KWD2s will give up some dry traction for wet traction:thumb: Never really had a big problem with my drags in the rain as long as I didnt drive like an idiot. Or when they became slicks. afr lt1 11-14-2007, 10:40 PM I plan on being able to do whatever with the car, like take a road trip. Just wanted to see if the drags would be deadly in the rain on a highway. Also, I will be rotating them, so I have to get same front and back. - I am leaning towards the kdw 2's (street). Rims are coming tomorrow!:D FivePoint7z28 11-15-2007, 12:13 AM If you are looking to rotate them and getting all 4 of the same the KDW is the most sensible choice for sure. Injuneer 11-15-2007, 10:57 AM The only time I drove in heavy rain, at highway speeds with my BFG 315/35-17 drag radials was when they were brand new. Didn't have any problems, but also didn't attempt any high speed cornering or sudden lane changes under those conditions. As the tread wears, they have got to get worse in the rain. There is simply nowhere for the rain to go with the tread pattern. I also run the 275/40-17 KDW (original tread, not the "2") and they seem to provide good traction, but I don't push them that hard on a car with DR's in the back, no front sway bar, drag-style suspension, etc. When this photo was taken, the DR's were brand new, and actually had about the same tread depth as the 40,000-mile 275/40-17 GY GS-C on the right. http://www.injuneer.com/images/photos/WheelsTires/315v275a.jpg | ||
