anyone go to street wars @ englishtown?
Yea, I was running a dark grey '07 Mustang in the ST (14.99 - 14.0) class. They hit curfew and stopped things just before 4th round. The track split the money between the last 8 cars. A long long long day for $60. I left my house a 5:30am and finally got home just a tad before 10:00pm. I added 200lbs to the car and tried to run at the bottom of the class. First and only time shot put me at 14.03. I was on the brakes for every elimination round but my cals work the runs to be 14.04, 14.05, and 14.0. I was dialed 14.0x all day. I think I have one heck of a backup bracket car.
cool..
my cars out of comission right now but my buddy was running a 97 white z28 with a cowl hood. hes got 373's,loud mouth, and drag radials and clicked off a best of 13.7 on an iffy launch.
do you plan on goin back to the next event? because me and my buddies are getting a pretty dcent group of some pretty solid fbodies together.. it should be really cool. we all plan on running domestic street outlaw.

Depends on my schedule. I run points at Maple Grove which sometimes conflicts with other tracks. The Maple points season runs from April to September. If Maple is closed for a particular weekend I usually go to Atco and run brackets there. I try to race almost every weekend. Actually I really try to avoid the import events due to their BS.
I don't have any issues with cars bracket racing in the 17's. What I hate is how the imports tend to oil down the track from the starting line to the return road. Burnouts in the pits, driving 50mph in the pits, spectators who walk in the pits (never mind just stand and talk) when your trying to get into the staging lanes, parked cars (in the pits) reving engines to 12000rpm, Nitro purges, and just plain crap. Then add a 14 second car doing a 180 (yes in eliminations) just in front of the tree, a 17 second car missing the turnoff and running off the end of the track into the sand pit, kids leaning on my car, etc. Still the $$$$ is easy pickings until the imports are elimeinated. I did get a good chuckle at the 12.1 import who popped his parashoot on the top end.
Wow, I ran a 12.567 a few weeks back so I guess I'm getting close to needing a parachute. I wonder if I can just pop the rear hatch and toss it out, or do I have to get the mounting thing on the taillights? I hate to drill moe holes in the car.
I like the bracket racing but I have found out the hard way that the sound of the 4cyl engines reving at 12,000rpms cause me to have severe epileptic fits. So I can only go to the events that have at least six cylinders.
