ASR and SES lights on after LS6 intake swap

I took my good old time doing this LS1 to LS6 intake swap, replaced the oil pressure switch, and made sure no wires were even close to getting pinched anywhere, but for some odd reason I get a Check Engine Light and the ASR OFF light is also lit up. All parts, sensors, etc., were transferred over from original intake and car had no warning lamps lit up before the swap...

Of course as luck would have it, my scanner is at work, so I can't even get to it until Monday, but was hoping someone has had the same issue and knew right away what the problem is, or could be?

Car has been tuned just a few weeks ago when car still had stock intake. Car ran great with no issues whatsoever.

Using the various SEARCH functions online, I did see that a few had problems with the MAP sensor voltage being skewed due to the different intake and with some tune tweaking it eliminated the ASR light by "tuning" the new intake addition. Other info pointed at the cruise control cable being out of adjustment?

Car has baby cam (226/226), and it runs great with new intake, but does seem to have a sticky idle now, which it didn't have before.

I know having the code would probably help, but that isn't possible at the moment.

Any ideas or thoughts?

My only thought is that you have the cables pinched or they need to be adjusted.

It wound up being mechanic's error, with me being the mechanic, lol...

It appears that in my overly cautious concern of breaking my brand new oil pressure switch, I forgot to plug in the MAP sensor plug. :eek:

All's good now and car runs great!

DEFINITELY a worthwhile mod for someone like myself with a cam, exhaust, and other bolt-ons :bow:

I agree with Al. Nothing like that should have come on involving ASR. Some of the things that need to be addressed are obviously the EGR and AIR system when switching to an LS6 intake.

From what I found, erratic/low vacuum readings in the MAP sensor can cause issues with the ASR. P0121 code.

Both are gone now with MAP sesnor re-connected.

Same thing happened with me. I was as careful as I could be when sliding the intake back to it's perch. I tried to feel for any vacuum lines coming apart but alas on the initial start up my ASR light would not go out. Checked the code and it said my maf sensor was pegged. I pulled the intake forward, found the disconnected vacuum line and the rest is history.
