z28pwr 12-05-2002, 06:18 PM I'm selling my torch red 1998 Camaro Z28.
The car is a hardtop with 45,000 miles has tilt wheel, cruise control, power windows/locks AC, traction control and is a 6 speed.
The car put down 432 RWHP (500 FWHP) and 393 RWTQ.
The car ran 12.1 @ 118.60 MPH on street tires and will run 11's on slicks.
The car can be seen at www.z28pwr.com .
Currently the car sits on 98 C5 Corvette wheels but if you'd like I can swap them with some 00 SS wheels.
I've spent over 13K in just mods for this car.
The car has the following modifications:
MTI Stage II Heads
MTI T1 Cam
Z06 Intake
LS1 Motorsports Intake Lid
GMS MAF
Mac Headers
MTI Power Pulley
Whisper Ram Air
Pro 5.0 Shifter
Hurst Line Lock
Moser 12 Bolt With 3.73 Gears
HyperTech Power Programmer
MAF Translator
PowerSlot Rotors
Star Clutch Stage III Clutch (Brand New)
Mcleod Adjustable Master (Brand New)
Aftermarket Slave (Brand New)
and of course a K & N air filter
The transmission was rebuilt 800 miles ago and a new clutch, mcleod master and slave were put in.
The heads have been refreshed with new springs, retainers, clips, and valveguides.
I just purchased a 720 gallon salt water aquarium and cannot afford both hobbies anylonger therefore the Z must
go.
I'm asking for $15K for the car which is a STEAL considering I have over $13K in just mods.
The car will come with the domain www.z28pwr.com, www.z28power.com and www.ls1pwr.com .
I'd like to sell it locally but if it doesn't then I will put it up on Ebay.
I can be contacted via email at z28pwr@yahoo.com

BLK97Z28 12-05-2002, 11:15 PM Trade you my car :D
z28pwr 12-06-2002, 10:45 AM Clark, It would be too much $$ to swap engines almost not worth it.
Ken, as you know I'd like to sell it as is but if I can't I'll consider your offer.
the right formula 12-06-2002, 11:26 AM Sounds good...good luck!!
damn that sucks, well did you get the clutch working good? How did the slave work out? I put my master in and bleed it and feels good. Just wondering if I need to do the slave next. I probably will someone else to do that don't wanna bleed the clutch again. Well good luck selling it.
z28pwr 12-08-2002, 10:41 PM Pedro, the car finally feels good. If you still have problems I would replace your slave and bleed it.

GrdLockV6 12-09-2002, 12:50 AM OMG, why couldn't u sell the car a few months from now! I just started working and I'm saving up to trade in my V6 for a Z28, and yours for $15,000?! That's a steal unless it's got major problems or something! And San Antonio isn't that far from Houston.

The car is in great condition you can come down and see it for yourself. I have receipts for all the work.

Yes for this price Jose's car is a definite steal! Kick ass car with a hell of a lot of power. And it sounds killer also.

I'd love to, I just don't have any cash yet, so it would be pointless. :( I couldn't possible come down knowing I couldn't buy the car... i'd
But seriously, this is a way long shot, but if you would be able to let me finance remainder of the car (once I take my current car into CarMax or whatever, which I outta get around $10,000 for it) then I could afford it... but I doubt you'd wanna do financing, right?
z28pwr 12-09-2002, 05:44 PM GRDLOCK, you can get a bank to finance the 5K outstanding.
Dude, I remember the good'ole days when Jose let me ride shot gun so I can experience an open cutout on a 320 hp car.... Times they are a changin'...
Ive gotta see this tank when its all set up.

Hopefully it'll be located in Houston instead of San Antonio in a week ;)
DarkblueTA 12-11-2002, 07:30 AM say it ain't so Jose'....man...times are changin'. Well, hope you find a buyer. Just wish I could have raced you with the 8# pulley before I moved up to :barf: Delaware. Good luck and hope all is well.

8# Prochager and then some :metal:
z28pwr 12-11-2002, 01:47 PM Matt, sucks we didn't get a chance to line them up when you had the 8# hair dryer installed but oh well I will have to live with the memory of blowing by you on 1604 with Clark riding shotgun :D.
I'm sure it would be a close race now. Have you seen what it will do at the track with the 8# pulley ?
Things are going well here, how are things going over there and what are you doing in Delaware what ever happened to Pensylvania?

Sounds like a sweet ride, wish i wasn't still paying on my 02, sounds like a beast. You should try autotrader instead of ebay, ebay will take a high percentage of what you get. Try the paper in houston, the capital of f-bodies is full of enthusiasts who would love that car, especialy for 15 grand. good luck.

Sounds like a good idea, but I'll wait till GrdLock's auction is over.
To do that.

It does suck we never got to run with my 8# hair dryer. Don't worry, you did blow by my near stock TA then, and you did squeak one out on me with the 4# pulley...do you really want to race "The B!tch"(car's 'nickname'...ya know...'she' uses a hairdryer) now? :D
At the track at Numida Raceway in Numida PA, I wasn't allowed to run a 1/4 because I had shorts on(yankees are strict as hell at the track). But the good thing was since I drove all the way up there to visit their track, they did let me run, but only an 1/8. So I lined up, reved to 2500rpms and let the clutch out(mind you it was the first time at the track w/the star clutch). I bogged a bit off the line and ran up to the 1/8th, then coasted the rest of the way....ran a 13.2. If I remember correctly, 1/8th mile was well into the 7s, but I moved 2 times and helped my parents move 2 times since being there in June...GOD only knows were the slips are now..but I was happy with the results. I have raced a 03 Cobra and 02 Roush Stage 3(blower car) and whipped both of them. :D  Cobra was from a 50 roll, giving him the move and ended at 110 2 cars ahead. Roush was off the line, he jumped out 2 cars because I didn't want to spin and lose(was on street tires) , pulled back up to him when I shifted into 3rd(70mph) and just pulled righ away from him from there. Both of the other drivers were cool and they had sweet cars.
I moved to Bloomsburg PA, helped my uncle remodeling a house until I found a job in Delaware. I helped my parents move from bloomsburg to there rented townhouse in lancaster. Just a month ago, my parents found a house and I helped them moved the last few weeks...it's all good.
Miss hangin' out with y'all in San Antonio. I have met some people up here that are into racing. It's fun to mess with the turbo civic/vr6 guys...they think they've got a stock trans am and when you are sideways in 2nd gear pulling away from them...the look on their face says it all. :Owned:

Bloodztone 12-14-2002, 09:19 PM Yeah it's too bad you're not here Matt, we need to find you a job down here again. I would have liked to have lined up with you also, heh heh. All I'm going to say is the car is a monster and I've never felt anything pull the way it does. I think I need new brakes also. :D
