97 30th Vortech Supercharged M6

Passes all CA smog tests and is able to drive cross country with no problems. A few small paint nicks, but that's to be expected for a 10 year old car with original paint and about 80,000 miles. Its not stock, so if you're a whiney collector, I didn't build it for you.

Vortech "Silent Drive" S-trim blower
Hooker "smog legal" headers (designed on this car)
Bassani True-dual stainless exhaust (also designed on this car)
Eiback Pro kit springs/1LE Sway bars/Bilstein shocks/Struts.
Intro billet wheels, 17 x 9, custom offset for this car.
POS traction control removed, anti-lock brakes fully functional.
Installation and tune by Morgan Motorsports, 400+RWHP. Very docile and good mileage at "city" rpms.

$9,999 OBO. it's in the LA area. Photos available...

Sorry, I'd post pics, but for some reason, I'm a moron and can't get it to work on this site, so you'll have to go to Photobucket (link posted below).

This is a hardtop coupe, no T-tops. All 30th Anniversary cars are white with Hugger Orange stripes, and have houndstooth seat areas with 30th anniversary emblems embroidered into the leather surrounds (Option was all leather seats). It turns heads everywhere I take it, and has always been garaged.

Thanks!

I'm not the original owner, I bought the car in summer '98 when it was less than a year old, but I have not run any kind of history, so I can only speak for the time I've had it.

I hit some ice on a mountain road at about 10 mph, and the nose hit the built-up snow on the side of the road and it cracked by the turn signal opening, so I had the entire nose replaced. Apart from that, it's never even been driven in the rain while I've owned it.

Let me know what other things you would like photos of. I need to go over the car for a full mods list and I'll post it here when I get the chance. I'll try and indicate how many miles are on each mod, but I didn't keep very good records for the first few years.

Thanks

if you could, a couple more shots of the interior would be nice. What shape is the body in? Im going to guess theres no rust on it, judging by where you are

Interior: I had both front seats re-dyed white, as the original white leather dye was starting to wear on the driver side, and I wanted them to match. I had the dash replaced at the dealer because it bubbled up. Apart from heel wear on drivers floor mat and coffee spilled on Passenger floor mat/carpet under the flip-out cup holder, the interior looks like new.

ZERO RUST!! I live in Los Angeles, and the car has never seen rain, let alone snow or salted roads, EVER. Always garaged.
Reliablity: I would not hesitate to drive it cross country, it's been to Phoenix, Salt Lake city, and Denver (in the summer, naturally). It's a great road car, and the reason I chose the blower instead of building the engine NA is that there is no cam lope, not even a 1 MPG mileage penalty at "road speeds", and no degradation of drivability, plus it's all certified and smog legal in California. The centrifugal supercharger does almost nothing at idle, very little at low RPMs and cruise, but the power builds rapidly as RPMS rise It is only pushing 4 pounds of boost, so if you wanted to crank things up, I would suggest putting the intercooler/ "high boost" blower pully on it, and probably some better valve springs (more boost tends to "push" the intake valves open) that would probably ad about another 80-100 HP. I had originally intended to do that, but if you nail it and shift aggressively, the tires just go up in a haze in first or second the way it is. It's not the worlds fastest car, but it has the power to run 11-second quarters if it would hook up, although I've never drag raced it.

Mods list:
Skip shift eliminated
Traction control eliminated (Anti-lock brakes still fully operational)
Limo Tinted Rear window
RK Sport Rear spoiler
BMR Fabrication Lower control arms with rubber bushings in one end (quieter)
BMR Fabrication panhard rod
BMR LCA relocation brackets (welded on)
Hurst Billet-plus shifter
Re-dyed front seats (virtually cherry)
McLeod clutch friction plate
New Driveshaft (original one was not balanced!!)
Bassani True Dual Exhaust system
Mobil 1 oil only used in this car
Hooker ceramic coated headers
Vortech S-trim Silent-drive blower system (installed @ 72,000 miles)
T-Rex Auxiliary Fuel Pump
Crane Hi-Fire ignition
1LE (Camaro road racer) sway bars. I didn't know until I got 'em that the rear was the same as what was already on it.
Bilstein Shocks/Struts
Eibach "Pro Kit" springs, progressive rate for acceptable ride, about 1.5in lower than stock
I forget the brand of brake pads I put in, but they were a definite improvement as well.
Intro Billet wheels/ Toyo (?) tires, 275/40 x 17 all around
front end alignment set up for aggressive handling.
Custom dyno tuned at Morgan Motorsports, who also did the blower install. I have a dyno chart with the stock exhaust manifolds and a Hooker single exhaust cat back at just under 400 RWHP. I'm sure with the better exhaust it's well over that now.

That's all I can think of.

OK, that's a good question. One of my posts says I cracked the nose in the snow, another says it's never been in snow.

Clarification:
It had not snowed for about 4 days on this (Mountain) road. It was VERY early morning, and the snow along the sides of the road had melted and run across the road and re-frozen. The road was otherwise clean and dry, but there had been a few "patches" of wet pavement near the summit which I went through slowly with no problems, then one of them just after the summit was this super slippery ice. On a steep down hill, in the middle of a turn, it just started to spin around in ultra slow motion, and went across the oncoming lane and the nose hit the snow built up on the side of the road. Apparently the snow on the sides of the road had also melted and re-frozen, although it didn't scratch the paint, it put a crack in the nose. This also cemented in my mind that the traction control and anti-lock brakes are worthless under these circumstances.

So there you have it, it was not snowing, and the car was not in the snow, there was no salt on the road, but the snow did cause the nose to crack, which was replaced. Far too slow for the airbags to deploy, and it was not a solid contact anyway, just kind of glanced off. Makes me wonder what the nose would look like if it ever smacked something solid at speed.

Sorry for the apparent contradiction, but I knew what I meant...

Back from SEMA show, requested additional interior shots are now posted here:
http://s241.photobucket.com/albums/ff224/Gearhead202/

These were taken primarily with no flash, on a tripod, so they show EVERYTHING. Coffee stains in passenger side mat/carpet from badly designed cup holder, and heel wear on driver side floor mat. Other details show drivers door side seat bolster, which will show wear first on the seats. Stock interior is white leather w/houndstooth seating areas.

I'm not sure what else you guys want to see. Let me know.
