Wow my first legit tuner race

I was heading back to base to pick up a friend who just got back from a detail so we could go see a movie when i see these 2 white riced out civics drive by. I pull on the road, come up next to the one in the back and see the passenger staring me down, so I decided I should let him stare for a reason, I dropped it down to 2nd and flew to the next car and slowed down. Next thing I know the one in the front started revving at me, so in return I revved back. We finally get side to side on the next road(im driving like normal at this point) when i hear him downshift really low, so I'm like ok, I'm in the mood, its been raining all week, I'll play. So i downshift and wait for him to make a move, he guns it and immediately after i do too, I slam into second with a nice chirp and for some reason this thing is still neck to neck with me, I'm make it to 3rd and I BARELY start to pull on him then shut down shortly after to slow down for a light up ahead. I come to a stop and look over and the guys are smiling and give me a thumbs up, I roll the window down and so does he. I quickly mentioned, damn man, that thing is quick, I gotta give you props on doing your car right. He then told me it was turboed(which was VERY quiet but i could still hear it) and then asked me if it was an SS :lol:. So of course I tell him its a Z28 which is basically the same thing. Then the light turns green and we both punch it at the same time and when i shut down halfway through 3rd gear he was at my bumper. Sorry for the long writup but the guy deserves props. He not only did the car right he was a good sport.

cool, i would much rather race a car that is either neck and neck or at my bumper. Some of the people around here claim to have 11 sec cars:rolleyes:, then they get blown away(10 cars) by my 12 sec. camaro, most people want to race me due to it being a z28 and not an ss, Oh and they think my auto is slow beacause its an auto......they learn the hard way:eek:

i do think it is neat to see a 4 banger run

i had a post a lil while ago about a mid 90's hatchback hand my ass to me pretty badly, dude had a prelude motor with a turbo and all that map stuff, looks stock except the suspension stance and some 16in rims but its a rape. could probably run low 12's on the 6psi i raced him with

If all ricers were good sports like the one in you're experiance, then I wouldn't hate them as much. It's always fun to beat someone who's kinda cocky and them be a good sport.

i have always been a fan of fast four bangers, no rice of course;)

my last car was a mid twelve talon tsi awd and it was so much fun to drive with not much money in it, but this car is much more fun:D

rwd is always much more fun due to the fish tailing factor.

**** theres this local guy who has a 95 honda civic hatchback with a ls vtec motor, 99 si tranny hes running like 12.5 to 1 compression or something, his ****s really fast, its non turbo but he beats turbo cars all day long, he hangs with me till about 60 then i pull hard on him if i could get traction 1st and 2nd it would be another story but there are some fast ass hondas out there and you gotta respect them.
