if i put a nasty converter on my stock trans will it hold up..or what should i do to it..like a local shop can do..thanks

pretty much what he said..i'm going to up grade my stall..idk what one yet maybe u can show me some good once..right now i'm pretty much doing all the bolt on's..maybe a cam later on.but how well is my trans going to hold up..it has 103,000 on it seems fine.

We have some good prices on a good product on out site click the link, As for will your trans hold up you would need a crystal ball to determine that some people get lucky with the stock trans with a stall and it last a while others well not so. With those miles I would consider a trans/converter upgrade both at the same time and save yourself some potential hassel.

It will depend on if you intend on getting a mild or aggressive cam. What you would want for a stock motor wouldnt be the same as what you would get if you have an agressive cam. Maybe up to 3K stock. Ive seen people run different stalls and there was a fine line on the result. IMO the stall converter isnt going to shorten the tranny life. Its gonna be the way you drive it that determines that. It will generate more heat and the desire to foot brake and launch it in the higher RPMs are going to start wearing on it. I would wait to see what cam and dirrection I was going on the motor 1st, consider the tranny rebuild cost and be prepared to do that (or buy a good performance tranny from one of the reputable builders) and then have your stall selected. Thats just my opinion.

i WOULD NOT DO A 2300 TO 2500 Because its a 12 inch stall. You would get alot more jolt from the engine with a 9.5 inch. They are avaiable down to a 2800 if you want to stay low but the lower mass makes a huge difference.
