I am currently running pacesetter (emissions) shorty headers + y pipe into a high flow cat and back through an slp loudmouth 1. My catalytic converter has broken up and is rattling. i want to eliminate the cat since i'm no longer subject to emissions but i don't want the car any louder. Would it be rediculous to put a muffler in it's place? i can't recall anyone ever putting a muffler that far up in an exhaust system. Any ideas suggestions??? Thanks in advance for your help:bow:

You can put a bullet muffler in its place, That will tone it down abit. Or you could put a straight pipe where the cat was and put a longer bullet muffer in place of the slp muffler

Thanks for the info. I'm wondering what a borla muffler would sound like flowing through a loudmouth resonator............. I want to keep the volume it's at but eliminate some of the rasp. Would a borla be a step in the right direction?

Now that I think about it I'd put two 14in bullet mufflers on the section right b4 the exhaust tips. I'd then have a straight pipe put in where the cat was. Having the 2 muffler's at the back will cure the rasp but not the volume.
