:confused:I have a problem with my headlights and DRL. The DRL are not working but my low beam and tail lights are always on when the car is started. This is during the day or night. The headlight switch does not turn them off. Is this a probelm with the DRL relay?!?

I'm in Canada, all cars since 1990 have DRLs standard.

The ambient light sensor on the dash under the round plug or wiring from it possibly has an open circuit which would tell the DRL module its "dark out" and turn them on all the time.

Is it easy to disable the ambient light sensor?

Yes, I cut the wires from the sensor and connected a ,IIRC, 1 Kohm resistor across the sensor wires, which would be low enough resistance to tell the module its bright out. I didn't want to connect the wires straight together (even though other have done it) because I measured the resistance of the sensor in bright light and it never went to 0 ohms.

Perhaps a relay has died and is stuck open? Only guessing here... Check the fuse/relay box...

I'll have a look at the relays and fuses.

So what happens if I just cut the wires from the sensor without putting the resistor on?
