97formulakid 09-17-2007, 12:48 PM I'm upgrading to a dual stage slowly but surely. Right now I am trying to round up all the little things I need to make the kit work.
Now, should I run 1 or 2 bottles with the dual stage? I like the way my one bottle is mounted but if I upgrade to two I am going to do the rear seat delete and mount both bottle behind the rear seats.
If I do go with two bottles, should I just run a line from each bottle to each solenoid y them together at the bottles then Y then off to each solenoid??
97formulakid 09-17-2007, 01:06 PM Also, I have a nitrous pressure gauge hooked up to one bottle now, it is an electric autometeer unit. I can't use one gauge to monitor two bottles can I?
Ok4thGen 09-17-2007, 04:09 PM If you take two bottles and Y them together it wouldnt be any different then having one bottle as the pressure will equilize between the two.

I would Y them together at the bottle then seperate at the solenoids
to run 1 gauge with the above set up...you would use a manifold off the Y at the bottle...this would read the pressure at the main feed line.
This would actually be better than a single bottle due to more bottle volume and less pressure drop over a run...but you would need 2 heaters.
Another option would be a single bottle and a NANO system
97formulakid 09-17-2007, 06:45 PM Well I'm thinking about a dual bottle system with a dual nano system setup, but that is going to get EXPENSIVE!!
I may just stay with one bottle and a nano kit for now then I might upgrade to a dual bottle system after the motor is built to be able to handle a BIG dual stage (150/150).
97SS0594 09-17-2007, 07:43 PM i just run 1 bottle.

The Competition NANO system will support up to a 500 shot....I am planning on using it on my car with a single 10# bottle and a 250-300 shot.
If I don't go with the Competition I will get their "Evil Twin"

97formulakid 09-18-2007, 05:34 PM Oh my lord! I would give up unmentionable things for that setup!
97formulakid 09-18-2007, 05:36 PM Evil twin? Please elaborate.
Ray@NitroDaves 09-19-2007, 10:37 AM I don't have many details on this system yet...but I do know it is designed for the car spraying between 500-850hp worth of nitrous....it is overkill for the average user and is not a simple plug and play system.
I also love the looks and would be getting it for the WOW factor to help generate interest in the NANO systems when I am at the track.
Injuneer 09-20-2007, 11:02 AM What does that thing weigh? :)
I run a single bottle on a 300-shot (used to be a dual stage 125/150). A bottle is only good for two passes, and then pressure loss becomes a problem, even though its still 1/2 full. But it seems to make more sense to swap bottles than to load the car up with a lot of unnecessary weight.
Ray@NitroDaves 09-20-2007, 11:51 AM a single bottle NANO system weighs around 15#...the Competition kit will support up to a 500 shot and will allow you to run the nitrous bottle empty with no pressure drop.

The Evil Twin would easily be over 30# but is designed for the guys running 500-850HP worth of nitrous
97formulakid 09-20-2007, 12:14 PM The 15 pounds isn't really that much. If you think about it, sacrificing 15 pounds to be able to run the bottle until completely empty would be worth it IMO.
Robert56 09-21-2007, 11:05 PM Here's my answer to the push systems. really not much (50psi) drop running these dual 15lb'ers. one additional nice thing is this amount supports a whole day or weekend of runs, and this is at 250rwhp shot. I think it's cheaper also, and legal where push systems in some classes is still a no no.

This is exactly why I ran the nano, one 15lb bottle is equal to THREE 10lb bottles.
Injuneer 09-23-2007, 12:14 PM Ray:
How much does the NANO Competition 10# system weigh, with a full nitrogen bottle? Appears that it included a "super high flow valve and siphon tube". Does this mean that I will require a new valve and siphon tube for each of my bottles, so I can swap bottles? Is it possible to buy the valve and tube separately (are they just something like the NOS super high flow assembly?), and if they can only come from NANO, how much do they cost?
97formulakid 09-24-2007, 09:33 AM Ray, I was just wondering, a guy on another forum is selling a NX MAF kit very cheap and I was thinking about buying it. He does not have a bottle with it which is no problem for me, but would it be okay to run a NX MAF kit with my Nitrous Works Plate kit?? I was going to use the NX MAF kit as my initial 100 shot then the NW Plate kit as an additional 100 shot. Sound like a good idea?

The Competition kit retails for $689...it comes with the Super High Flow Valve
If you already have a SHF valve all you will need is the anti-reversion check valve for each bottle thse run around $15...and you could use the Universal kit $569

If you are getting the NX MAF kit, it is dual stage capable...so I would use it to spray both stages.
97formulakid 09-24-2007, 12:25 PM What do I need to buy extra to make it dual stage compatible??
Also, how much can it spray on both stages?

all you need are the MAF fittings for the second stage....I think they are around $20 bucks ea....each stage is capable of flowing up to 250 HP
