okay so i have a 95 z28 camaro and im rebuilding cause i needed rebuilt when i bought it and im wondering if you can take that intermediate pipe after the cat and put a 3' muffler on the pipping and dumping it before the axle just by making a cut and clamping it on for example it will be like this a cai bigger valves and ported heads, bored .030 over and mid tube pace setter headers and just let me know if anyone knows how that will sound or if it will work. thanks

depends on the muffler...a bullet or something like that will be loud

what about the moroso spiral flow racing muffler 4" in diameter and 12" long and would a 3" inlet/outlet work on the stock midpipe and clamp in place?

I'm not so sure b/c I think the stock pipe is 2.75" and not 3.00......but I'm sure you could easily make it work. A friend had that same set-up....it was o.k. until you stepped on it and it was loud IMO. But I had TD with 2 edelbrock T304's mine was more of a mellow sound but still loud

okay so i went to the garage and measured the pipe the caliper said it was like 2.79 on the o/d of that pipe so my next question is would that be able to crimp down with a u clamp and if that dosent work, how about this idea taking that pipe and leaving stock like it is and and then where it stops in the back of the car bellow the gas tank. could i then put a 2.5 inch muffler ( bullet style/ glasspack style) right there and turn it down towards the back end of the car?

just put it under like you wanted and weld it on.
If you can't weld it you might need to take it to someone but It shouldn't cost much.
I would weld it on, add a hanger and turndown
