Please help

Hi, i currently was building a 8.5:1 fully forged 383 for a blower setup but am having a lot of trouble getting it tuned...I am thinking about getting rid of my custom blower cam and blower and going with something a little easier to tune.. I am looking for a easily tuneable cam for the 383 and maybe a 200 shot of nitrous...

What do you think about the low compression and nitrous? how much would the low compression affect NA performance? i don't really want to change the pistons to higher compression but will if i have to...i want to run a 200-300 shot eventually but would also like good performance while not on the bottle...

8.5:1 NA is going to hurt you a good bit on power.

And likewise, Nitrous works fairly well with high compression so you'd be MUCH better off either A, getting the blower tuned right, which I would do.

Or B, tearing it down again, putting in new pistons, and going from there.

Agreed, you've gotten the most difficult part done, now it's just a matter of sorting out your tune. Obviously a good dyno tune using a wideband is the best way to go if you have someone in your area. If you can't find someone competent to help you tune it locally, post in either the forced induction section or the computer diagnosis section of this forum and you'll be able to get some help. Have you tried talking to Brian at PCMforless about your tuning issues? He is usually very willing to help resolve any problems you may be having.
