No more Cobalt SS...Evilfrog 09-06-2007, 02:06 PM At least not this year. http://media.gm.com/us/chevrolet/en/product_services/r_cars/r_c_cobalt/index.html V8 Slayer 09-06-2007, 02:10 PM It will return with a mean atitude  Eric77TA 09-06-2007, 02:11 PM This has actually been in discussion here since April. Here's the thread where our FBodfather lays out the future: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=518026&highlight=cobalt+ss 99SilverSS 09-06-2007, 03:20 PM A short hiatis never hurt anyone or car... guionM 09-06-2007, 05:13 PM At least not this year. http://media.gm.com/us/chevrolet/en/product_services/r_cars/r_c_cobalt/index.html If in "This year", you mean the 2007 calender year, then you're correct. The 2009 model year begins in less than 4 months on January 1st. A 6 month hiatus isn't much. Look for it next spring. Direct Injected. Turbocharged. :) Toukijin 09-06-2007, 08:41 PM It will return with a mean atitude  Oooo..and the top dog will be Z24 instead of SS. 97z28/m6 09-06-2007, 08:50 PM Oooo..and the top dog will be Z24 instead of SS.:metal: gbu27 09-06-2007, 09:00 PM Oh well i will enjoy my little supercharged one for a DD, gets great gas milage AdioSS 09-06-2007, 11:13 PM Cobalt Z24!!!  Big Als Z 09-07-2007, 01:29 AM Ahaha...it will probably retain the SS badge, like the HHR. Anyone know of any pics or if the Turbo Balt got any track time at the Ring? AdioSS 09-07-2007, 01:48 AM I like the way the old SS coupe looks. I wonder if they'll make some changes to the exterior? 2K1SunsetSS 09-07-2007, 07:41 AM If in "This year", you mean the 2007 calender year, then you're correct. Eric77TA 09-07-2007, 09:29 AM power #'s ? The HHR SS is 260 horses with the 5 speed manual and 235 with the 4 speed auto. I'd expect Cobalt SS will be the same. jg95z28 09-07-2007, 11:13 AM Cobalt Z24!!! :eek:I actually like the sound of that. :D Jason E 09-07-2007, 01:28 PM I miss the old Zs... :) 90 Z28SS 09-07-2007, 04:20 PM I like the way the old SS coupe looks. I wonder if they'll make some changes to the exterior? From all I can tell , no exterior changes other than a mesh grill to replace the slats and new 10 spoke wheels <---if u look at the wheel , it looks like it was made from the same tooling as the old 18" , just remachined as a spit 5 spoke . These are apparently the mules . Got the pic off GMinside news . I pointed arrows at why I think their legit . Most test cars Ive seen have that little white pipe coming out the front of the car . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v627/9502transam/SSTurboCharged.1.jpg Eric Bryant 09-07-2007, 08:49 PM Words cannot express how much more I like the new 10-spoke than the old five-spoke hoops. AdioSS 09-07-2007, 10:52 PM from this picture, I like the old dark grey wide 5 spoke better. We'll see when they hit the streets though. Do these have a lip spoiler that the old ones didn't? Eric Bryant 09-08-2007, 09:02 AM from this picture, I like the old dark grey wide 5 spoke better. Not me, man - I hate those five-spoke wheels. It's almost like someone at GM held a contest to determine who could design the bulkiest-looking wheel possible. Those Vette-like 10-spoke wheels look great, though. number77 09-08-2007, 10:45 PM If in "This year", you mean the 2007 calender year, then you're correct. Evilfrog 09-09-2007, 10:00 AM Which brings up a question: Is changing the model year of a car, while changing nothing physical about the car, a marketing gimmick, formality, what? I dont know, but there are plenty of changes for the model year listed there. And I would expect "this year" to mean the 2008 model year. | ||
