I've never seen this before, maybe the news came out when I was on vacation or something. Pretty cool looking crossover.

I really like the outside, but the interior looks pretty weak.

It mentions that Chrysler is going to start using the VW style dual-clutch transmission in alot of their products.

Has Dodge taken over production of the Vibe?

Either they shrunk the Durango, or the Caliber has been taking growth hormone.

These are way cool, though. Pretty ingenious, actually:

Looks nice. Interior looks alright (better than many current Dodge interiors), but radio below HVAC = :death:

Though the way that dash is shaped, it could be that the radio is actually easier to reach in that position, as the slope of the dash pulls the hvac knobs farther away from the driver. The radio is within inches of the shift lever...

I saw a camo'd one running around Death Valley last week. Brenda Priddy was following it around a bit.

My impressions, the front end is too blunt compared to the rest of the vehicle, and the dash looks sterile. Nothing to get me excited.

Front reminds me of a Saab. Maybe it's just the headlights, but it looks like it's there.

Pretty interesting, what platform is this on Avenger/Stratus? So Dodge has Caliber, Nitro, and now Journey, seem a like some product overlap in there. It looks pretty nice, but the interior looks about 5 years too late. Journey....almost sounds like a Jeep name.

Jeep is having problems with product overlap right now.

It's a little smooth to fit in with the rest of the Dodges out now. Maybe it'll be a Chrysler.

they missed the mark... it doesn't have anything on the Outlook/Acadia/Enclave if they want to move any volume of these they will have to price it well below the GM crossovers.

Yeah it has a third row, but I'm betting it is one of those 'kids only' third rows. The rear door is cut into by the rear wheel well, and there is hardly and greenhouse behind the rear doors. Plus it will be offered with smaller engines (2.4L 4 cylinder and 2.7L V6, with a 235 hp 3.5L as the biggest/most powerful). The 4800-5000 lb lambdas have only a 270+ hp 3.6L V6 standard, and they aren't exactly barnstormers.

I wonder if the sales campaign will entail....

Caliber is Neon sized, Journey is built on a stretched Avenger platform, and the Nitro is a larger BOF SUV. I don't see any overlap.

According to car and driver, it's only 2 inches longer than an Avenger (though with a longer wheelbase) so it's nearly 9 inches shorter than a Lambda. They said it's expected to start around 22k. I think it will do OK at that price point. I actually think it's decent looking. Not going to set the world on fire, but not outright offensive.

The neatest thing about this is the built-in cooler/ice box. Looks like it's in the floor behind the front passenger. That is awesome!

Germans don't even have cup holders in their cars? Well, we got beer coolers!

Dodge/Chrysler has an interesting trend to move to "big" vehicles - a lot of jeeps, SUVs, cross-overs, etc... They appear to be abandoning the traditional car market. I am beginning to get lost in all of their lineup, as a lot of it is similar and overlaps in my mind. Since i'm not in the market for these larger vehicle, nor do I foresee myself being in the market in the future, Dodge/Chrysler dealership is one place I will not be visiting.

I think these new Chrysler crossovers will steal sales from the minivans if anything. Their too similar. Nardelli has said that he is looking to get rid of some over lap going on with the vehicles right now at Chrysler and its brands.

Cool storage concepts, but the outside looks like crap.
