how much can you spray with no fuel ?

Just tossing arround the idea of 25 to 50 hp sprayed in front of the maf. I have some old solnoids and nozzel. would this work or am I craZy. and no im not thinking about using with or in conjunction with the 150 i already have.

I would never spray nitrous without some type of fuel enrichment....it is just asking for trouble.

Yes it is.. Most LT1 dry kits boost fuel pressure and you spray after the MAF, but a few guys have had success spraying small dry shots on the slow LT1 computer, so I have read....

I have a nos dry system 05176tbnos it has fuel enrichment by way of the fpr with a booster pump. How do other dry systems work?

If you are spraying through the MAF, you aren't "spray(ing) with no fuel"..... the PCM will add some extra fuel, because the MAF sensor can pick up the mass of the nitrous. Question is, will this add the correct amount of fuel. Sort of a trial-and-error thing.

The LS1 dry systems spray through the MAF, and don't change the fuel pressure. But the LS1 PCM is supposedly a faster processor than the LT1 PCM.

Why don't you just do what is necessary to spray the 175-shot using the 5176 system, and higher fuel pressure? You probably don't want to push the fuel pressure any higher than it is now, but larger injectors would put you in the right direction.

One reason Im afraid Ill be picking up little peaces off the track, 209,000 miles for "175" shot. I have been second guessing my purchase of this much nos. could I jet smaller than the #67 jet that came with the kit? what size injectors for fuel would you suggest? And the best question is with the nos pump installed , vaccume line removed from the fpr should I see more than 47psi?

Yea you almost definatly should be seeing more than that. Thats stockish fuel pressure for IDLE. When your on spray, it should be higher than that.

I remember Injuneer saying something about this kit putting nitrous pressure on the fpr to raise the pressure of fuel when spraying. I was worried about if I interpreted this correctly. the nos instrucions arent very good at telling how all that stuff works. I havent sprayed yet. still checking every thing and a tune soon I hope. thanks everyone

You asked if, WHEN YOU REMOVE THE VACUUM LINE (and thereby the connection from the blue pressure regulator to the FPR), should the fuel pressure still be 47psi. I think the response above misunderstood that, and assumed the nitrous was still connected.

With the NOS inline booster, the stock FPR should still be able to hold the stock fuel pressure.... 41-47psi with the vacuum line removed. My 5176 kit did not increase fuel pressure at all, when it wasn't spraying.

And, yes the slipstream of nitrous from the blue pressure regulator (probably drops it to 90psi or so) presses down on the FPR diaphragm and closes off the return fuel flow, increasing the pressure in the rails.

And FWIW, its fairly common on carbed vehicles, running a small hidden shot, to run slightly rich NA. Then spray a 25ish shot through the intake.

If im not mistaken, thats how a Sneaky Pete kit works. But its pretty retarded. If your already hiding a Nitrous solenoid, line, nozzle, and bottle, how hard is it to tap the fuel and run a line to the same nozzle ?
