JakeRobb 09-04-2007, 03:23 PM I was pulling out of a parking lot in the Grand National. Behind me was a white 350Z. Full body kit, chin and trunk spoilers, lots of stickers, and two 4" grapefruit-shooters (saw them before I left the lot).
The lanes ahead of us opened up, and he floored it to pass me. I heard the unmistakable sound of burning rice.
I floored it when I heard him go WOT. The GN downshifted, the turbo spooled, the rear end squatted a little.
He did not pass me. :D
Capn Pete 09-04-2007, 04:30 PM Nice! :thumb:
I did something like that to a completely riced out Civic one time just as he was about to do a "ricer fly-by" :D ... I was doing ~45, he was probably doing ~70 ... yeah, he didn't pass me either!

If anyone is wondering, it sounds kinda like a bumblebee. ;)

That reminds me of my first street race ever in the Z28... I tried to prevent a Talon TSi from passing me.
I failed -- he pulled me like a freight train.
HardcoreRM125 09-05-2007, 01:12 AM Sucks getting worked over by a car like that dont it ... lol especially if someone is with you. At least when it happened to me though I was in my truck. And I'd never admit it, other than online, but I think the car coulda put a hurting on the car also. It looked whickedly fast. Same deal, TSi, gutted, lots of boost.

I looked the guy up later on a DSM website and managed to find him. Turns out he runs 11's. So I didn't feel too bad, especially since I was moving at the time and had a couple hundred pounds of stuff in the car.
:D
LastBreedLS1 09-06-2007, 04:50 PM i had the same deal with an acura rsx-s, looking all pretty. the had a new exaust or somthing because he wouldent stop rev-eng, and he went out of his way just to catch me up, but when he did we got the red light, gunned it when it turn green n left him behind, just to have him find me laughing at him at the next light. feels good to have another rice-rocket under your belt!!
Morginie 09-07-2007, 03:47 PM Very nice, I have destroyed 2 stock 350z's myself in the 2001 z28. Stock for stock the 350 can't touch a 4th gen in a straight line.

Stock for stock they can't beat them around a race track either ;).

Seriously? I had no idea, like I mean its a roadster right?

Turn off your caps lock. :)
This occurred pulling out of the body shop parking lot after getting the estimate to repair said damage. So no, unless he travelled back in time to put the curse on, that wouldn't be the case. :p
"Crashed into the garage," btw, is overstating it a little bit -- she scraped the paint off the corner of the bumper. It was a <1/2" error in judgement.
The body shop did an excellent job fixing it up. :)
Iroczdaroad91 09-18-2007, 03:38 PM I was with my cousin in his ford lightning when a supra tried to pass him up...supra didnt have a chance....
Capn Pete 09-18-2007, 03:51 PM Seriously? I had no idea, like I mean its a roadster right?
Sure, but have you ever seen how a 4th-gen performs on a road course? ;)
... surprisingly well .
Just for comparison, I ran 2:27.1 (2 min, 27.1 sec) around a road course here in Ontario, and an '05 350Z, driven by a much more experienced driver than me, ran 2:34.4 :thumb:. So, I beat him by 7 seconds, which is quite significant, IMO! :)

350Z Convertible is a roadster -- 350Z coupe is not.
John M 09-18-2007, 07:25 PM Toyota built a vehicle whose design goal was to equal or beat a 350Z on a road course. The funniest part is that it's a truck - the Tacoma X-Runner. It's got 236hp, 256tq, a 6spd manual, and pulls over .90g on the skidpad. I think it's funny their truck competes where the Celica never had a chance.

Because we all know Supras suck when it comes to mods...
HardcoreRM125 09-18-2007, 09:50 PM So do Lightnings ...
You can throw TONS of boost at a Lightning also.
