Cool Preview: New custom upholstered seats.

Alright, my stepdad and I are reupholstering my seats in my 30th anniversary Z-28. I'm going for something of a stock look with a little bit of a custom flare.

It's GM arctic white vinyl and orange/black houndstooth. They're the same pattern as the factory houndstooth seats, just orange/black instead of white/black. It'll tie in with the stripes perfectly. This is going to be the centerpiece of the car. These pictures just don't do justice to how incredible these seats really look.

I'm going to retain the 30th anniversary embroidery, I just have to get the old ones digitized and recreated on new material. It's going to look amazing when it's all finished. I'll definitely be updating when they're done.

Shock....that looks BADASS! Can't wait to see it back in the car. Good call on the orange, I think it'll really make the difference in setting your car off from the rest.

One of you must own an upholstery shop. Those seats look great.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I really appreciate it. We made some more progress today, but nothing picture worthy. We had some issues today with the embroidery. We had to get a release saying that we could have the 30th anniversary logo reproduced. ...copyright laws... The embroidery will be getting finished tomorrow. All of the patterns for the front seats are finished and ready to be sewn together, just waiting on the embroidery at this point.

That would be my stepdad. He's been doing it for 35 years. He also did the seats and headliner in my 93 V6 Camaro.

How much would it cost a normal customer to get something like that done? If you dont mind me asking. And i think im falling for your car. That thing is going to be gorgeous inside and out.

I'm not sure really, I didn't ask him. I'd wager somewhere in the 800-1000 dollar range with the embroidery. And thanks for the compliment. I'm loving this car more and more every day. I can't wait to be "done" with it though so I can just enjoy it.
