The car woes continue

Well as many of you know my car has been down for 2 months now and I am having major withdrawls. To those seeking more power beware, you'll end up spending A LOT! I've now lost my tranny due to the power of the engine and is now in the process of getting rebuilt. Let's see here, a new engine, plus new rear end, plus new tranny = a lot of money and a poor engineer. :(

Well at least hopefully I'll have the car again soon. DOH!!! I think I'm going to buy a Hynudai and stick with the raw 2 litre power!

I'm sorry to hear about your problems but I've been in your exact location that is why I had to stop racing after investing over 13K into the car it just wasn't worth it.

Good Luck.

I hear you Jose. I figure this will be the only "project" other than a house that I really put my heart into though. You only live once so I might as well go all out. I think I've spent close to an extra $30k on everything including labor. Playing with power needs a considerable bank account. I think I need to win the lottery. :D

Holy $hit! But then again, won't your TA run 10's NA now? Since you forged it out, are you going to add some nitrous and gun for 9's.

I'm so sorry to hear that Ben. I won't say I told ya so. ;)

Are you swapping trannies or sticking with the 4L60E? I'd HIGHLY recommend at least a 4L80E, basically a TH400 with overdrive. Will add about 90lbs though, but it's bulletproof. Has a hefty price tag also around $3k.

Like Eddie said it will all be worth it in the end. :metal: :metal: :metal:

That is the exact reason why I learned to do it myself.. labor will eat you alive!

My old motto:

"Speed costs money.. how fast can you afford to go?!" ;)

Sorry to hear the car is still in pieces. I think the first time you crank her over, you'll forget about the pricetag that came with it :) I'll have to agree w/texlurch...doing it yourself will definately save you some bucks!! Just spent some money on a cool mod for the car this week...should have it done w/in a month :D

Bloodztone,
I feel your pain, not quite as bad in the pocket book, (30K for me is like 100,000 to you prob ;) ), but all the same it definately blows not being able to drive your car.. Especially when you fully expected to be by now.

Sorry about the bad luck, dude. For 30k, I would have opted for the '01 ZO6. Not as much power, but damn nice.

Hey ben,

forget the 2 liter and get one of those new hybrid jobs with a 1.0 liter that gets like 70mpg. :D j/k

As soon as you take it to the track and see that 10.xx as you cross the line the first time out, you'll be glad.

I know about the wait and all, mine is still not working, maybe before christmas, maybe.

I feel you pain Ben....

Someone was nice enough to hit my car. Thank GOD there is no body damage other then some swapped paint and just a broken rear marker light.

At least you're going to have a beast of a car when you get done<g>

Someone posted in their sig about having a fast car....whoever it was...PLEASE come up to DE and race me....I'm getting very bored... :D

well i think many of us are or have been in your situation. I hate the withdrawals you go thru having to drive a POS daily driver. But in the end its all worth it. So what happened with your moser afterall?

The box was in shambles when it arrived at its destination. Ryan said some of the pieces were missing and probably fell out during shipment. Mark over at Raging Motorsports got it taken care of right away and Moser is shipping the missing parts over to Ryan. So that's taken care of, I'm still waiting on the car though.

2 months and you're complaining!!??! I've been buying parts and waiting for about 1.5 years to get my car on the road...dropped it off at the shop in April. It will be started for the first time by the end of the month. But yea I agree..once you hear it run, the money wont matter.
