porksoda 08-27-2007, 10:48 AM Well I'm looking into getting a wet kit but need help on deciding which one to get. I'm debating between the Nitrous Outlet kit for the LT1 and 1 of the kits from HSW.
Nitrous Outlet: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog/product_details.asp?group=14&model=37&dept=11&product_id=2805
HSW: http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop/product.php?productid=16649&cat=364&page=1
http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop/product.php?productid=16652&cat=364&page=1
The difference between the 2 HSW kits is that 1 is single nozzle and one is dual nozzle. I don't plan on ever spraying over 150 shot so I don't know how many nozzles I need? This will be going on my daily driver in my sig with the mods listed. I only want to spray at the track but I won't lie because I know I'll use it on the street too. But street racing for me is few and far between.
I really like the Nitrous Outlet kit because it has the plate system! I just don't know if I want to spend $300 more for that piece because they seem to come with about the same things besides the plate that HSW doesn't have. But I kinda like the HSW kit because with the extra $300 I could start buying accessories for the kit. Also from what I have seen both places have awesome customer service.
Frans96SS 08-27-2007, 11:29 AM i prefer nitrous out let ALL DAY long over a hsw kit..... i just dont like the small noids that hsw kits come with.... just my opinion....i use nx usually but nitrous outlet is pretty close to an nx kit...
Ray@NitroDaves 08-27-2007, 12:18 PM here is a brief rundown on the differences....
Nitrous Outlet 00-10000 $499_________HSW Sudden Impact $359
10# Bottle w/2 pressure ports_________10# bottle w/1 pressure port
.125 orifice nitrous solenoid (400+hp)___.078 orifice nitrous solenoid (200hp)
.187 orifice fuel solenoid (400+hp)______.125 orifice fuel solenoid (200hp)
14 jets 35-50-100-150 w/extra fuel jets__8 jets 75-100-125-150
24" solenoid to nozzle lines_____________15" solenoid to nozzle lines
18" fuel feed line______________________20" fuel feed line
16' nitrous feed line___________________16' nitrous feed line
no pressure gauge ($25 extra)__________nitrous pressure gauge
Both kits have all needed electrical and hardware parts needed to install the kit.
This is comparing our single nozzle to the HSW Sudden Impact Single nozzle...all information was gathered from the HSW website, if anything is posted incorrectly I will edit my post.
There is also no need for a dual nozzle unless you like the look. The plate kit will give you a much cleaner looking install over a nozzle. A plate will also give you better atomization due to having 10 distribution ports compared to 1 in the nozzle. This will help will help with distribution.
Here is a another good thread to read that will help you make an accurate comparison...

porksoda 08-27-2007, 01:01 PM Well comparing the $499 kit you posted to the $699 kit I posted what is the difference between those 2? Is it just the plate?

yes, the plate is the only difference...;)
HarrisSpeedWorks 08-27-2007, 05:53 PM Hey Fran,
Just a heads up, we give you the choice of solenoids, if the customer wants our larger orifice ones he can get them in the Brute Force kit, if he won't be spraying more then a 150 rwhp shot then the customer can choose to go with the smaller solenoids in the Sudden Impact kit, it's all about customer choice!

Good list Ray, but why do apples to oranges compare and not an apples to apples? The Sudden Impact kits are great bang for the buck, but for the user looking for a larger shot and being able to do some customization of the color scheme the Brute Force kits are the way to go!

Wish I would have known that when I ordered my kit.
karpetcm5 08-28-2007, 03:02 AM Well dealing with HSW and i bought a wet kit for my 93 Z they didnt respond to my last email. The last solenoid i sent to them which was defective no replacement was sent back i have another defective nitrous solenoid sitting in my room emailed them on it no response in the end ive bought solenoids to replace there crappy nitrous ones that fail. So from my own experience i would never by HSW again.
BlackbirdWS6 08-28-2007, 09:49 AM The only nitrous kit experience I have with HSW was installing a buddies 50-100 shot kit on his neon. I think he may have gotten the sudden impact kit but I am not positive. Everything was of high quality, instructions were clear and the install went without a hitch. As a company, they were excellent to deal with during my trip to a dyno day and installing my new racetronix fuel pump while taking care of other small things. I would and have recommended them.

Moshbmx1 08-28-2007, 10:17 AM Ive ordered numerous times from HSW and havent had a problem with any of their products and Matt has always answered my questions as fast as he could. I havent dealt with nitrous outlet but from what ive heard and seen on the board their customer service is top notch too. ITs all about what you want to get. Both kits will suit your needs you just have to decide which one you think is better for your application. Dont forget you need to get some more supporting mods like ignition, window switch, fpss and all of that extra stuff befire you start spraying
HarrisSpeedWorks 08-28-2007, 11:01 AM Is this Michael K? Sorry, we don't have any emails from you, nor do we have any solenoid(s) that you have sent back. Do you have a tracking number for the package that you sent to us?
Thanks,
Matt

HarrisSpeedWorks 08-29-2007, 10:47 AM The nozzle BF kits are being re-done to make them easier to configure, the ls1 plate kits were just finished up so it'll give you an idea on the available options:
http://www.harrisspeed.com/shop/product.php?productid=16877&cat=340&page=1
In the mean time phone orders are accepted on the BF nozzle kits.
Thanks,

Any and all nitrous companies have solenoid failures. Any massed produce item has a failure rate, and I mean anything. In the buss world this is excepted as part of doing buss. Sometimes a company will get a bad batch of noids, and this has happened for certain with even big time companies, that i won't list, but fact none the less. So it's unfare to suggest/imply that HSW has crappy noids. All companies get there noids from the same couple noid manufactures.

this is like saying a ford explorer and a Land Rover are the same vehicle because they were built by the same parent company
Each maufacturer builds the solenoid to the end users specifications.
