DMS springs... handling abilites?

I see they are a great price and lower the car abotu a 1.3 in. which might help a bit but does anyone know the spring rates and if they are significanlty better then stock and compare to any other aftermarket springs.

Comparing the DMS vs Eibach Pro:

............................Front................. ...Rear
DMS..................325-630 lb/in...........95-160
Eibach Pro..........377-600..................94-160

The DMS rates don't sound bad to me, but you can't tell from these specs if the change in rate is similar between the springs. I'd suspect it's not very different.

I haven't heard of them being available for the V6's Eric. Your front end will probably sit kinda high.

But I've been wrong before.

yeha I know that is something I ahve to look out for I was jsut making sure they were not an appearance only mod that they did have some handling properties befoe I start digging. And I have also considered the thought of putting spacers in the rear, to jack the rear up so maybe I woudl be lowering my car, and raisnig an in. all at hte same itme? The idea is kinda out there, I could care less if my car was lower or not I am more interested in stiffere spring rates and I am sure they will be an improvemtn over stock v6 springs and stock v6 springs with over 120k on them.

I've seen you post about autocross. Springs, swaybars, and shocks all need to be matched to get the best car for that. Why not get a pro (I'd use Sam Strano, but it's a personal decision) to recommend a package?

Otherwise you could waste a lot of money and time. Global West says it, and it's so true:

"Compatibility is a key issue because of so many aftermarket companies offering suspension components. It is easy to purchase non-compatible components and end up with unacceptable results."

I agree....

but part of working on my car is I like to work it my own way and make my own deceisions... I highly doubt it will competitive enough to dump huge sums of money, main reason I stay away form springs and shocks is its oging to cost me a good $350, for slp takeoffs, and a eibach kit.

I can't afford that... in the end money = competitiveness.

but these DMS springs ae $150, I was looking into if they were a decent quality performance part, not jsut a set of lowering springs to make your car look nicer at a car show. Most my shock questions have been related to whats on my car at the moment, decent performance shocks are going to run me ~$200.

I know there are better setups I am looking for a decent setup with what I can afford.

Bilsteins with your stock springs will be faster than SLP takeoff DeCarbons with _________ aftermarket springs.

I'm no pro, but why not put a V8 suspension on? SLP takeoff shocks (people sneer, but they're a good deal for $50), springs and bars from SLP or a junkyard. Less than $200 for parts. At least you know they were engineered to work together.

It's not flashy, but it's gotta be a lot better than what you've got, especially with your old and mismatched shocks.

Cool

Well the first thing I would do is invest in a bottle of car wash.

I saw you car in the parking garage the other day and I'm sure it'll be quicker if you wash the 10lbs of dirt of it

I already have sways, my thinking was to go with SLP takeoff shocks, and maybe DMS springs, if they are only going to cost me rougly $50 mroe then stock z28 srpings, and have better spring rates.

And with any spring off a v8 car its going to raise my nose roughly an in. my thinking was maybe get hte DMS, since they lower the car about 1.3in. and maybe run a spacer in the rear spirngs and keep the car roughly the sae ride height, maybe a slight lowering, instead of with takeoff v8 springs whcih if I did the same thing to keep the fornt and rear of my car balanced it woudl in fact raise my car higher then the stock height. Which woudl not be optimal.

and Jason, car is getting a wash today, hopefully , I plan on going to OSW Friday night and MSCC event on Sunday, you going to either?

I'll probably be out at Palm Bay on Sun. I have my last final tommorow at 7:00 so that rules out OSW. I probably wouldnt go anyways, I havent been out there in ~6mo and I cant say I miss it.
