Any more info/news on Colorado/Canyon?

It must seem like I ask this every five minutes, but does anyone have any news or spyshots of these upcoming trucks?

Last I heard they were on schedule to go into production for MY2004...

I think they are supposed to be at the Detroit show too... ???

I so hope their there, I'm excited to see these things. I can't wait for the replacement of the S10, its long overdue.

BTW: has anyone noticed that Chevy now has the namesplates Colorado, Avalanche in their line-up now? Can't they get sued for that?

Its pretty sad that two trucks coming out of DETROIT are called the "Colorado" and the "Avalanche". Now think hockey for a second here. . . . . Who is Detroit's arch-nemesis? :mad:

So far, so good. The grille looks more intimidating than the TrailBlazer. Not sure I'm nuts about the large plasticy fender flares.

Looks like a mini version of the previous generation Silverado, albeit slightly more modern. It does look 500 times better than the soccer-mom face on the Trailblazer though. probably a small step in the right direction

As far as the idea of a Dodge, As usual, I came to my senses about 22 hours after I posted it on here. I should have let you know.

I'll keep the current S10 over a new Dodge. Man I can't believe I even thought that.:D

From what I understand the truck will move up to
Dakota size, so the weight will go up.

And the best engine is a 5cly....NA? 225lbs of torque.....gee it'll be a slug.

A Dakota has V8 for cryin out loud...maybe a HEMI in future.

I think the 4.2L or 5.3 V8 should be avaible.

I read somewhere that the engines are going to be a 4 and a 5 cylinder based off the I6 in the TrailBlazer. Myself, I'd be all for the 5.3 in there. Could you imagine a 2wd, SWB with a locking diff and 3.73 gears! That thing would fly! Especially after you put a blower on there!;)

I have to think that they'll offer at least the 4.8L at some point. The 5.3 is offered in the Extended TrailBalzer, right? If so, then you would think at some point it'll be an option...?

The Isuzu version seems more like a replacement for the compact trucks that they stopped selling in the U.S. years ago, before they started rebadging S-10s. Those particular vehicles have remained in production in other parts of the world like Thailand.

Oddly enough, the Trailblazer EXT forms the basis for the Isuzu Ascender, the Trooper replacement. This smaller pick up platform might be the basis of the replacement for the Rodeo.

If I had to guess, the market their aiming at with the truck doesn't really demand the V8 or Inline-6. Outside of the United States, all of these vehicles will probably be sold with 4-cylinder diesels anyway.
