Does anyone know how many miles are on concepts odometer? I'm curios to see how many miles each one has been driven.

There is no visible odometer. The screens like what you see between the "pods" on the dash is fake.

I think it sure would be awesome to have something like that be functional on the production version, though.

I don't think so, I don't believe it is recorded. The car is no more than a movie prop and functions on a very very basic level.

Meaning it doesn't even have A/C?

I can't beleive the builders didn't even put a luxury like that in it.

Remember, we are talking about a a CONCEPT that was built to be displayed, not driven. It is all about the design and that is it. They leave things like AC and cruise control, etc to test mules.

I'm sure it could be calculated, as wouldn't most if not all trips in it be well documented?

I didn't see anyone keep track of how many laps got put on the 'vert during the "Enthusiasts Summit". All we know for sure is that they had to put more gas in. :D

It's a display piece. It doesn't need A/C.

There are probably a couple hundred miles on the Silver car -- cuz it's been driven a lot by the press and internals. (and no, it does not have air conditioning --nor do the windshield wipers work, for that matter!)

The Convertible has a few miles on it as well..........

now -- Bumblebee -- (he's twins by the way -- there are two of them...) -- both Bumblebees have air conditioning -- cuz the windows don't go down....(and let me be the first to say thank GOD that there is air conditioning - it gets very hot inside the car on a summer day.....) (and the windshield wipers don't work on either of the Bumblebees.....)

More trivia: The Bumblebees have a GTO I.P. cluster -- with the Camaro concept pods formed around the cluster -- so that the Speedometer isn't completely visible.......the interior panels --such as the door panels and I.P. are hard surface material rather than vinyl as in the concepts.....

my question is what kind of maintenance and repairs have had to be done on the concept vehicles, with them being concept cars and being driven as much as they have been

They are not exactly durability tested since they are mostly hand built so things do need much more attention on a much more frequent basis (nearly constant). They have a small crew that maintains them, preps them for media test drives and shows, etc. and keeps them looking brand new and undriven.

Well I know they've had to put new coolant in the silver concept at least once. ;)

Tons.......including repaints and damage repairs (such as cracks and chips) -- these cars have been all over the world -- on airplanes-- in temp. controlled carriers -- you name it.......

All modern-day concepts as a rule are fragile -- the Camaro Concepts are probably the most 'robust' concepts we've done in many years -- simply because we knew they'd garner a lot of attention-- further, Design specifically built them with stronger door hinges and hood and such -- because we knew that the doors and hood would spend an inordinate amount of time in the open position. (note that most concepts NEVER have their doors opened on a turntable.....)
