I have been having a problem with the brake system on my 94 camaro. It takes a lot of power to brake the car and sometimes with the pedal all the way to the floor it keeps rolling. The as inop light has also been on when i start the car and when the car is in drive. Any help would be great.

What condition are your brake pads in (how much material left)?
Also, have you bled your brakes recently?

I just replaced the brake pads on each side and checked the calipers and they were fine. I havent bled the lines yet. A couple of places i called said that it may be the sensors in the hubs. Not sure where to turn next

Bleed the brakes... maybe new fluid???

remove and clean the sensor on top of the differential.. (that is what was causing my ABS inop light to come on)

Is the sensor on the outside of the differential.

If no traction control, the sensor is screwed in to the top of the hogs-head....3channel ABS.

If you have traction control, you have a sensor at each brake backing plate....4channel ABS.

hope that helps,
Doug

how is the brake fluid level in the resivour

sounds like you may have a leak or at least some air in the line somewhere

I have traction control and the light isnt going on so does that mean that the sensors in the hubs are out.

As for the brakes not giving you good stopping power, as said before thoroughly bleed the brakes starting with the ABS module and then working the rear pass side, rear drivers, front pass, and finally front driver.

As for the ABS inop light. It could be the sensors in the hubs, the rear sensors, of the most common cause...

Check the center mounted 3rd brake light... If the bulb burns out, it will trigger the ABS inop light. There are 2 bulbs in the center mounted 3rd brake light.

Thanks for the help the ABS INOP light is off but i still have a braking problem. Im going to have the brakes bled by a shop since i heard that you have to have a program tool for the job.

I don't think TCS was available on the 94's. Are you sure you have it? Are you referring to the "LOW TRAC" light?

You can bleed the brakes without the Tech-2. That is only necessary if you have an active ABS code, and the "motors" need to be homed.
