First I needed to cut the cowling back to fit a single plane with a 4150 TB and a 2" spacer( to clear the fuel rails. Didn't want it to look too crappy so here is what I came up with. All the metal I added was 16 ga. steel. The welds came out pretty good so I'm not going to grind on it...just clean it up and go with a coat of por-15, I like the way a nice weld looks any way....adds character. This things needs alot of work.
I will add more pics later.....doing 2 brackets with 1/4 turns on the back for the hood have 5 on each side and 4 across the front, its a lift off 4" cowl, so I will add pics as I go along.....I know alot of it isn't perfect but its just a drag car so as long as it functions I don't care too much

Also made a plate to cover where the wiper motor was

Remade subframe connectors and welded to the lip on the body to stiffen it up. Tubing is bent to the frame and frame is wrapped in 1/8" steel plate

Like you said, once you hit the new metal with the por-15 it'll look fine. My KBDD subframe is welded in with some small plates and how you welded it to the lip. With a little undercoating or por-15 everything will look good.
So you think it will be done by spring?

Yeah I think so.....My heads are done(took 7 months)

I would really like to mini tub it and get a 31x10.50 under it.....but if not I will need to take some gear out and run it on the other slicks(28")

I'm going to look into the mini tubs more....I got the offset wolfe control arems...not sure what all else I need....so anyone that has done it chime in.

Anyone wondering about the welding on the wiper motor cover.....the windsheild was taken out.....I just had a new one installed and ended up busting it cutting the metal out:( So we just took it out to weld it and finish the work;)
