stripe paint spec for regular '69

the spec sheet I have calls for 5.2" between the bottom of coupe's rear window molding and the top of the stripe... does this apply to the entire width of the stripe? since the edge of the window molding curves up towards the outer portion of the car then this would result in more stripe height on the outer portion of the stripe (above the edge of the trunk lid).

So, is the stripe supposed hug the rear window as it curves up?
