I'm pulling the original engine out of our 77 Vette with (I think) ~80,000 miles on it. It has a small rattle in the bottom end at about 2500+ RPM - not really a full knock yet. This was caused after I built up the top end and increased the CR about 500 miles ago. The lower end bearings couldn't handle it I guess. It's not too bad yet cause I stopped driving it. You could probably get away with a set of bearings and front/rear main seals. I'd at least replace the rings too while I had it apart. It does run fine and you can hear it or even drive it if you want for the next few weeks until I swap in the new 383. I will need to keep the cam and lifters too as those are going to be reused.
$150 Short Block (Block, pistons, rods, crank, dampener, Flywheel) The flywheel is very noisy when starting but cheap to replace.
I won't ship it. But I can drop it off locally for free. That's why this isn't in the FS section. I don't want to deal with the "please ship it to NJ for me" offers.
