2008 Pontiac G8 (Red) Real World Photo's

Snapped these this past Sunday. I also wrote a "first impressions" of the car as it sat in public. Keep in mind we were at the debut in Chicago, but it was really tough to get a good look at the car for more than 20 seconds, especially when Edmunds decided to film a piece that lasted an hour and a half and was filled with about 20 out takes.

That said, enjoy!

Holden IS part of GM. Why the distinction?

Nice shots, Josh.

FYI: on the front page, the headline "Exclusive: 2008 Pontiac G8 In Red Real World Photo's" should not include an apostrophe in the word Photos. You are doing a plural, not a possessive. Also, since I'm already on the topic, I'd personally put a semicolon after "Red" or do something to separate the parts of the headline. To me it reads like you have pictures of the G8 in real world photos that are red (i.e. the photos, not the car, are red).

Just a friendly suggestion.

It's got a real European look to it. The side profile reminds me of an Audi. At the same time, the dual exhaust, quad tips, and hood scoops bring an American flair to it. All it needs are some bigger wheels.

The only thing I don't like are the altezzas. Clear tail light covers don't look good on anything. Other than that, it's a sharp car, should sell very well.

I think the GTO was a fantastic looking car that was weakened by the nose which took heaps away from it's muscular look and made it look plain.

I absolutely love the looks of the new Commodore, and the G8. But again, I think the "Pontiac" nose they designed for it takes away from the car's great looks.

All car design is subjective, but I feel the car would look far more complete (and better) if it had more of a full width or horizontal split grille (ie: 70s Firebirds & Sunfires, late 60s Lemans/GTOs, etc..) or simply kept the Commodore's nose.

The G8 IS attractive, and a head turner. But Pontiac's BMW-ish "kidney" grille isn't exactly the most striking look on the streets.

you are not the only one that feels this way.. personally i'm indifferent, but i've shown pics of the G8 to several friends, and every one of them comments that the grill takes away from the car.. which they say looks great from side and rear

I love the looks, but the hoodscoops really seem out of place on this car. I'm afraid they added them only to make the front of the car stand-out beyond the dull pontiac grille.

I like the hood scoops, they're somewhat of a throwback to the 69 TA. (and the last gen TA's)

I wish the G8 had more of a Sosltice front end. Large kidney bean shaped grille would be great I think.

The recessed is nice in person, and the matching door handles looked great as well.

Do the hood scoops do anything or are they just for looks? I don't see were they hook up to the intake track or anything.

Hmmmm, they looked functional, but looking at the pics closer, it looks like the intake is taking air from the grill, not the scoops

The airbox, is like, right there.... hopefully it will be an option like on the TA's?
