full bolt on 1/4

I just picked up a LT1 TA, I've owned a 3800 until now and not sure on how these engines react to mods...

So far I have a 3" Flowmaster cat-back, cat delete, K&N FIPK, SLP Air Foil, hypertech 3 (haven't "tuned" anything tho), Transgo Shift kit and a Monster Transmission Rebuild Kit, stock 3.23 or 3.43 gears...

I plan to add...
LS1 Aluminum Driveshaft
Headers
Underdrive Pullies (crank/alternator)
Electric Water Pump
Full Suspension (shocks/springs/sway bars/tq and pan. bars)

What times does a FULL bolt on LT1 generally do?

Mid 13's?
Better than that?

The ran around a 14 flat stock, so Id say low 13s with a good deal of bolt ons (including a full exhuast). The cars an auto im assuming since you mentioned 3.23 gears.

You need to add a higher stall performance torque converter to the list.

I think that with those parts and a decent converter and tires you could go high 12's with some hook.

I wasnt' going to do a stall because I really dont want to tear apart the engine or remove it...

so there's no way to do a stall without removing the engine/trans right?

You don't have to touch the engine. You do have to pull the trans down and back about a foot. It does not even have to come out from under the car.

I will only go to the track 2 maybe 3 times a year, so how would a stall be for the daily driver?

and yes, this is an auto

I'm working towards Shon from HerronPerformance.com's LT1 bolt-on record of 11.805 @113, I might do it this fall ofr next spring if I can get things sorted out.

you will not regret a stall. Lets review some pro and cons

pro
1)quicker acc. even if only a 2800, perfect for street, a .2-.4 et increase depending on traction
2)most after market 9.5 converters are 15lbs lighter, quicker revs and free hp, this is commonly overlooked
3)believe it or not it can be easier on the tranny cause less shock from less weight when shifting
4)since our tranny have lockup you will not notice a drop in mpg
5)mustangs are getting in trouble

cons)
1)cost but well worth it
2)may have to run an et street tire, but also well worth it
3)you will also need subframe connectors and lower control arms(aid in traction)

really the cons arn't cons, they are really things you need if you want to race the car and win.

the biggest thing in drag racing is getting off the line

Well not really new, just closer to the record... I've played with LT1's since my first one in '96 and took a break for a few years while in the military. My car was a daily driver up untill this year and since it has been paid off for a while I decided to take the goal of breaking Shon's record seriously. However, I remember a few years back when that Bolt-on record was still in the 12's, that would have been such an easier target...;)

As for where I race, I am in a 12.50 index class for an N/A series that goes to a few different tracks in this area PA, NJ, MD, VA, and if weather cooperates for these next few races I may try the 12.0 index. My home track is Cecil County mainly because I grew up not too far from there and raced there throughout high school. I do go to Maple Grove if I am in the mood for a good track and Cecil is booked with another event or something, my third choice is Atco but I really hate the drive just getting over there with all the damn traffic. I just happen to be centrally located between the 3 of them with them each being about an hour from me in different directions.

I agree with silverz28camaro on his pro's and con's of Converters, just to say I did my converter when the car was still a daily driver, and before doing gears. The performance gain was worth it...

Buy a quality converter in the 2800 to 3200 stall range. There not cheap, but man does it wake the car up out of the hole. If you have traction. ;)
