My supercharger came with the FMU unit. I want a tune and was wondering if i would just remove it and the tune would work without it? I assume this but i haven't seen it written anywhere.

Do i need an FMU with a tune?mrmint69 08-04-2007, 02:04 AM My supercharger came with the FMU unit. I want a tune and was wondering if i would just remove it and the tune would work without it? Sparkz28ss 08-04-2007, 10:21 AM you would need bigger injectors if yu want to ditch the FMU Boosted_Z28 08-04-2007, 10:39 AM Agreed, larger injectors would typically be needed, but in my opinion, this this the much more prefered method anyway. Even with 6-8lbs. of boost, a good quality fuel system, larger injectors (usually around a 42lb. on a 350ci motor) and a quality dynotune makes the drivability of the car so much better not to mention some perforance gains as well. mrmint69 08-04-2007, 01:54 PM My injectors are factory with 108K miles. What would i want for brand and size for my setup? 42lb sounds big but what do i know. JWS6 08-04-2007, 02:50 PM I'm running 42lbs injectors and no FMU also. Boosted_Z28 08-04-2007, 03:03 PM A "larger" injector won't cause any problems as the PCM will turn it on only for the length of time needed by lowering the duty cycle. 42lb. injectors are typically a good choice for your application and they will give you a little room to "grow" as well. I ran these in my 350 ci motor with 10lbs. of boost and the drivability was fantastic. Try these guys: http://www.racetronix.com/ mrmint69 08-04-2007, 06:14 PM Is there a brand or type i should get. I guess the 42LB will be the size. AmericanMuscle33 08-05-2007, 02:58 AM Bosch green-tops are nice.;) 97WS6Pilot 08-06-2007, 01:16 PM Is there a brand or type i should get. There is a guys selling some 60 pd Mototrons in the For sale section for $300 which is a good deal on some killer injectors that are plug and play with a tune.:) | ||
