Say guys I just got my 12 rib set up on my 97 camaro with a p1sc. The tension pulley looks wide enough and then the edges of it stick up but not very much. Anyway I shredded my belt because it walks off of the tension pulley. The tensioners seem like a piece of shix At a 100.00 a pop for a belt I dont want to do that again. Do they make a pulley that has higher lips on it to keep the belt from walking off, Thanks in advance:cool:

Did you get a new tension pulley widh the 12rib kit?
We use the one from the 8rib setup, the only modification is that we grinded down the edges of it, Havent had any troubles widh it yet (2 years racing).
Just make sure that everything lines up correct.

$100 for a 12 rib belt. I didn't know they were that expensive. The 8 ribs are only $20 from NAPA.
If you have the pulleys and tensioners lined up right the belt will ride in the middle of the tensioner and doesn't even need the sides. Don't assume its right because it came from procharger. You'll need to put a straightedge on the pulleys to see whats not aligned.
The guy from SDCE talked me out of a 12 rib and recommended the 8 rib and now I see why. Expensive belts and not many lengths to choose from. :)

I turned both front and rear flange off the idler. Also cut it short due to needed fan clearance. Critical to have good pulley/ belt alignment. Also, I modified the idler arm allowing it to unload (0.060") belt tension on the top side. It helped the belt from flying loose off the pulley and reducers vibration/ deflection. B.

Thanks guys, Im going to get rid of the lips on the pulley tensioner and make sure everything is alighned, I noticed my crank pulley wobbles a little, dont know if the would matter or not. Ya that belt was 98.00 from procharger shipped and they have those belts to where the parts stores cant get them for you, so you have to pay out the axx for them from procharger, otherwise 40.00 would buy it. I think that is crap especially when you dumped 4000.00 for there system and then they want to hose you on pulleys and belts:mad:

I was going to ask about that. Seems like it would work, thanks for the confirmation.

pulley wobbles a little? how much is a little? any wobble as bad (picture it at 6k rpm's)
i'm still running my original tensioner and brkt setup from my P1SC kit (just added the wider pulley) since 2001. average 18# boost with no problems. car runs low 9 sec et's all day.

I agree with NAPA, I get my belts from there as well. If you can't find a 12 rib in the right size, ask them for the same size in 14 rib and cut 2 ribs off.
