due to the limitations of not only the factory PCM and the lack of LT1 tuners in texas i think im gonna get the FAST XFI ECU.... the thing is that iv never tuned a car in my life so would this route end up getting the better part of me? i understand how everything operates and what happens when you mess with settings so i dont think it should be too hard. anyone here use XFI that has never really messed with tuning before? i downloaded the WP software just to check it out and i read everything on the FAST site. would i be able to get a base tune from anyone? im just trying to gather info before i go and blow up my brand new motor b/c i missed something really small in this process.

guess finding FAST XFI info is like looing for a needle in a hay stack... bet if i had a LS1 i could find info all day long ;) could really use any helpful info though.

XFI owner here and never tuned a car in my life aside from basic tuning. Totally different beast w/ the ECU. Get their tutorial DVD too as it's pretty helpful. Best place to look for XFI info are the GN websites like http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/ http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/ and here http://www.t6p.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&f=93&page=1&pp=20&sort=lastpost&order=desc&daysprune=365
The thing I've learned is be VERY patient.

The XFI system is a smart choice, especially with a F.I. car...you might also want to check out the Big Stuff 3 system, it's equally as impressive.

i bought an xfi system a few months back it seems to be a fairly good system it comes with a few different tunes built into it there is a new firmware 1340 it gives you different options on set up basic intermediate and advanced . i went with this system because i have a 383 with a procharger and a turbo 400 . give a couple heads ups if your car is obd2 you might have issues getting through emissions (mine being a 95 as well i did total stand alone ) but you lose gauges but i went autometer everything !!! tuning should be easy even if you take it somewhere it's very basic if you have some tuning understanding !

cool, i have never been around tuning before besides reading stuff on here about the basics so when people throw out numbers on different tables i have no clue what they are talking about. im a hands on learner so im sure il figure it out. for the time being i orderd the fast DVD which should be here in a few weeks. i just dont wanna get this car done and have the PCM hold it back. thanks for the help.
