I have a 96 Z28 with 79k miles and 2.73 gear. I took it to the track yesterday and ran a 14.56 @ 96.5 MPH. Temp was around 85 degrees.
60 foot time was 2.209 and reaction time was .479. Everything on the car is stock except for the K&N replacement filter is this about average for this car??

Average, yes. Mine went 14.40 @ 94mph bone stock. Some have gone a few tenths quicker though. Get your 60ft down to 2.00 and you'll run some 14.20s.

Sounds like it is running healthy, just chop those sixties down and you should be looking at some average, stock LT1 times.

Ya the check engine light was on for a random misfire and something else but ill think ill fix that and try staging a little higher and hopefully run a little better

Depending on elevation, it might be average. There was a 93 Z28 here with an A4, 130K miles, exhaust, CAI, and tune running 14.2's @95-96mph. Our elvation is ~2500ft and can easily hit triple digits n temp during the summer. So if your car was at my track, i would call it average.
How long have you owned it? Im suprised the mod bug hasnt bit you yet. Once the first couple mods get installed, these cars will really wake up.

My ran a 14.1 @ 99ish in April (semi-mild weather) when it was completely stock even down to the stock paper air filter... Depending on weather and elevation you don't sound too far off...
*** EDIT ***
I just re-read that and it made it sound like I did all this cap in a few months, that was an April many, many, many years ago, when the car was still a baby...
