I have a grudge match coming up and I was wondering what you experts think my car car run. I know it should hit 12s, but where in the 12s?

My last time at the track i had some major problems: fouled O2 sensor, fouled knock sensor, 5 wires running over 1k ohms, 1 wire totally dead (runnin on 7 cylinders), and a Rock-on Transmission that was slipping at the 2-3 shift, also had 2.73 gears. With all those problems i cut a 1.92 60' and a 13.1 @103.9

Now everthing is fixed. And my mods:
Power: MTI clear lid w/K&N, SLP CAI, LS6 Valve Springs, Manley 4130 Chromoly Pushrods, Jet Hot LTs, Dr. Gas X-pipe, no cats, Dynomax 12" Bullets, all 3" piping, Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, ASP Underdrive Pulley, tune
Transmission/Driveline: PerformaBuilt Stage 1 4L60E, 3.42 gears, Vigilante 3000 torque convertor and Dual B&M 24K transmission coolers
Suspension: BMR adjustable torque arm, BMR Boxed Subframes, BMR Xtreme STB, BMR lower control arms, BMR adjustable panhard bar, BMR 1" drop springs, Revalved Bilsteins from Strano Performance, Trak-Tec relocation brackets
Wheels: SS chrome 10 spokes, rear wheels custom cut and widened by Weldcraft Wheels to 17x11" with 315/35/17 out back.

How deep in the 12's should I get?

I'm also going up against a couple friends who think they will walk me. What do you think the outcome will be? And what times do you think their cars are capable of?

car 1: 00' Formula, A4 2.73,
Power: K&N Filter, LS6 intake manifold, SLP Loudmouth II, Pacesetter LTs, no cats, magnaflow muffler,
Suspension: Hotchkis springs, Bilstein shocks and Kenny Brown double-diamond subframe connectors
Wheels: 18 inch Z06 Chrome Wheels, BF Goodrich KDW2

car 2: 00' SS, A4 3.23,
Power: SLP Lid, K&N filter, SLP smooth bellows, SLP Y-pipe, SLP Loudmouth, Ported LS6 intake, Ported TB
Suspension: Eiback Prok Kit with custom Bilstein shocks.

If yoiu put a sticky tire on you could run bottom 12s. On street tires, mid 12s.

either of the other cars will be half a second behind you.

What tires are the 315s? Got stickys for the track?

Unfortunately I don't have any slicks to use, but these are pretty sticky, so I hope i can best the 1.92 i got with my old 275 nitto 555s (not 555r).

They are Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3

ok, but what about my current setup. I can't run any sticky tires right now, regardless of their price.

Hard to say. Who knows what the weather will be like and if you can be consistent off the line. Good luck though.

I don't know about the elevation, but its a Sacramento Raceway in CA. So its gonna be hot, at least in the 90's.

I used to be pretty consistent in the past.

You really cannot quantify your earlier results with so many problem points to factor. I do know that a 1.9 sixty foot time and a trap of 103 often ET around 13.1-13.2 and if your tranny isn't slipping until you pull second and you didn't spin the tires the sixty foot time may be about correct. Beyond that I have no idea but I would not expect to be overly deep into the 12s. If you take a wild guess at similiar conditions and figure the transmission hurt you by 2 tenths and 2-3 mph, then I see 12.6-12.7 in your future, if you can hook up.

Maybe you can borrow some tires to see what will happen?

Youre ET would be alot better with 3.73's instead of the 3.42's. But with your mods you shouldnt have any problems with the other cars, depending on driver ability. I would guess 12.7-12.8.

Do you have a pic of your car from the back? Those 315's look pretty wicked.

Not necessarily true with an A4 LS1 car with a good torque converter. I went from 3.42s to 4.10s and gained very little et (less than a tenth) and lost some MPH.
