Looking for some specific images...

Here's the deal... I do some 3d modeling as a hobby and would really like to model the Camaro concept. All of my work has been geared toward gaming (sim racing) and I'd like the Camaro model to be low enough poly to make it available as a free add-on to a game (rFactor is what I currently work with). While I've been able to find some decent and helpful images surfing the web, most of them have too much perspective to be usefull for trying to build a 3d model. What I'm looking for are some images of the car from a long distance away and at fairly straight angles (straight on front view, straight on rear view, straight on side view, etc.) If I could get hold of something more like blueprints, that would be even better, but I won't be holding my breath.

So... If anyone has, or knows where I could find the images I need to be able to build this car (preferably the coupe, but the convertible would work too), I'd greatly appreciate the help/info/etc.

P.S. While I've done some 3d work for pay, most of my work is made available as free downloads and this would be done the same way. I'd just like to be able to simulate driving the Camaro on my PC and figure a few other people would enjoy it too... ;) ;) ;)

I also have these images in colorized versions I can send individually. They are'nt quite as "straight on" as you mentioned, but maybe they can help. I don't have them in cad though, sorry.

Check on my main page as well. There are some high res images that may be beneficial. There are links to the zip files.

Good luck.

Many thanks for the links. There are definitely a couple of shots there that will be very helpful.

As far as the wireframe image, is that your model or someone you know? If there's a way to get some renders with the field of view set to 1 of the front, back, side, and top, that would work great. I work with 3d Studio Max FWIW. If you or someone else already has a model built that isn't too excessive poly count wise, I have no desire to re-invent the wheel so to speak and would be happy to work with you/them to get the model in game. For reference, the highest level of detail models in rFactor generally need to run around 2500 to 4000 polys for the main body and chassis.

Unfortunately I got these from another site some time back. I'll send you what I have and let you see if they can work. Hope you won't have to do too much re-work.

Are you just looking to add the Camaro to rFactor? I'd love to see it in GTA, and especially Need For Speed (back when you COULD add cars :*( Are there any other games it could be added to?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. I've been a bit out of pocket this week.

Once the car is built to go into a game, with proper LODs and such, it wouldn't take much to port it to other games as well. I personally have only put cars into Papyrus' Nascar Racing 2003 Season and rFactor, so I'd need someone who knew how to configure things for other games to work on making any modifications needed.
