What was built first, red or graynumber77 07-20-2007, 10:23 AM The gray concept was seen first, but was it built before the red concept? JakeRobb 07-20-2007, 10:24 AM The gray concept was seen first, but was it built before the red concept? It's silver, not gray. :) I think the red one was done first, but I'm not sure. Subscribing to find out the answer. stars1010 07-20-2007, 12:57 PM It's silver, not gray. :) I think the red one was done first, but I'm not sure. Subscribing to find out the answer. I know the clay clown cars were silver when they were deciding on the design direction. But I have no clue about the concpet itself. jcamere94z28 07-20-2007, 01:27 PM I think the order is this... Silver One got done 1st.... they had a much bigger reaction that they anticipated so they build a roller Red Concept to show it to more people. Then they had such a great reaction that they did the orange and around the same time they sent out the panels for the BumbleBee one. :) stars1010 07-20-2007, 01:30 PM I think the order is this... The Red concept was actually the first picture I ever saw of the 5th gen. the must have been built at the same time. Then the one down under and the vert later on. number77 07-20-2007, 02:08 PM I know that isn’t right because one of the first pictures to leak right before the unveiling was of the Red concept. I thought the silver one car pics were leaked first. The one that showed it with two different facias on the same car. Then the red ones leaked a couple days later? posaune 07-20-2007, 03:05 PM Which one was seen by the automotive jurnalists in the fall before NAIAS 06? Do you remember the date you saw it?? Because then we may be able to compare it to others "first sightings" and figure this mystery out! Here is the order 1.)Silver concept 2.)Red push car 3.)orange convertable The reason I know this, was from when Scott was talking about where the cars were debuting. To paraphrase really badly Scott said "The silver car obviously went to Detroit, and if there was time for a second car it would go to the California show." The red push car was NOT a result of the reaction as they debuted the same day... Infact as mentioned pics of the red car were leaked first, barring the clown car pics. number77 07-21-2007, 08:20 AM I cant believe noone who posted knows this, considering who posted. I was told that the description/plaque of the red car at the autoshows said it was the first one built. posaune 07-21-2007, 10:37 AM I cant believe noone who posted knows this, considering who posted. I think we know that the red push car was not a reaction build. Was the red push car or silver runner built first, that is what we are trying to figure out. ChrisL 07-21-2007, 11:11 AM IIRC, silver car 1st, followed pretty much right after by red push car, then a 2nd silver push car done for the engineering team in Australia. kissel 07-23-2007, 04:28 PM I thought it was the silver one and then two red push cars followed by the convert. number77 07-29-2007, 09:16 AM Where is Scott!? 5thgen69camaro 07-29-2007, 01:25 PM Here is the order 1.)Silver concept 2.)Red push car 3.)orange convertable IIRC, silver car 1st, followed pretty much right after by red push car, then a 2nd silver push car done for the engineering team in Australia. Where is Scott!? For what? I already told you the Silver drivable concept was built first. The red push car second, then the Convertable a year later. I understand not taking my word, but ChrisL posted the same thing. number77 07-31-2007, 02:38 PM For what? I already told you the Silver drivable concept was built first. From what I heard the Silver (working model) was the first one made after the clay models. Then followed in close 2nd was the red model & yes the red model was the first ones to leak out to the press about a week before the show. The Silver one was slated to the Detroit auto show & the red push car was in LA at the LA Auto show, to be presented at the same time as the silver car in detroit. This was the first picture to hit the next & the car is sitting out side of the LA Auto staging area I do believe. http://pnwcc.com/gall/gallery/albums/2006camaro/CAMAROOOOOOOOOO.jpg fiveohh 11-25-2007, 07:35 PM This is an old link to an interesting set of photo's and drawings, I found it interesting, I am not sure if it already been covered? ;) http://www.clanhop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1117 jg95z28 11-26-2007, 10:58 AM From what I heard the Silver (working model) was the first one made after the clay models.
