Which intake and carb combo to get

I had all the stuff in my sig installed a few months ago.

This car will just not run with the TPI F.I. system. So I've decided to remove all F.I. stuff and buy a combo package. I miss not driving this car and it's been a year.

Which would give me the best drive as a daily driver????

If you suggest something else make sure it is for Vortec heads.

I don't think I'd buy a combo, I'd just get a performer rpm and a vacuum secondary holley. Or if you really wanted to you could get(I think) a spreadbore perf. rpm and a Q-jet, it would probably yield better mileage.

Whatever you do. if you go with a non computer controlled system, don't forget chances are you will need to get a standard HEI ignition for a non computer controlled car.

my thoughts exactly

i started looking through the different carbs that are listed on summit. it more or less comes down to your personal preferences. I like Holley better than Edelbrock for carbs....but i would buy an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap manifold to start out with just about any carb.

I would say go with either the Holley street avenger series or a 4160 and buy a secondary metering block and quick change spring kit. A straight up 4160 will be fine, but when the secondaries open up there is no way to control the amount of fuel w/o adding a metering block.

How much do you want to spend?

There are alot of things you can do...why do you say it will not run with TPI?

Those parts in your sig are not enough to disrupt the 87 maf sensor. You must have had a combination of problems and/or didn't attempt to tune it.

Cut a hole in the hood is step #1. :D I managed to fit an RPM Air Gap Vortec intake with a Demon 750 carb under my stock hood. It needs a good 2-3" drop base air filter setup but you'll figure all that out. MSD Billet distributor. Spring it for full advance at 2000-2500rpm. If you add up all the advertized HP gains, you're looking at like....9 billion hp.:D jk You could do a 600cfm Vac sec. Holley for a couple hundred bucks or a custom built Holley from Pro-Systems for maybe $600. The $400 extra could easily be worth it when you consider it will be tuned 99% perfectly, from idle/cruise all the way to full throttle, excellent tech support included and he has refferences as far as the eye can see. I did that option. http://www.pro-system.com/

I fit an RPM Air gap/Holley carb under the stock hood, I didn't have to cut the supports out but did anyway just for some extra insurance. ~1" drop air cleaner.

I just got back from the shop. The car runs great. It was the valves and distributor had a crack.

So I left the car there to get the gauges and suspension mods on. I'll get a video soon and post it.

Also thanks again to all who suggested stuff. It all worked out.

I have the BW 9 bolt that came with the car still in it trouble free. Will this 360HP engine be to much for it???

If so what should I put in it??

I'm not going to race it. Just going to cruise with it and an occasional speedburst.

Your 9 bolt should be fine. I am running 1.58-59 60 fts on mine with all the stock stuff other than a ring and pinion change.
