I'm just about done shining up my intake a little. Nothing special just shines a little more than stock but still has that rough texture to it. What I'm wondering is if there is anything I can spray on it in my own garage to help keep the shine and make it easier to wipe clean when in the engine. It get annoying when tiny particles get stuck in the fine texture of the surface.
Thanks

Okay, you say that you're polishing it but that the surface is still rough? What method are you using to polish and how rough is the surface still? If you could post pics, that would help determine the best plan of action.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I just used a wire wheel on a drill to remove all the dirt and whatever gets on the surface of the intake. It still has that rough feel to it, however it looks much better and has a little bit of a shine to it. I was just wondering what I could use to possibly spray on it so that it will hold this look longer and make it easier to clean possibly. I probably should not have said "polish" because I did not completely smooth it out, just removed all dirt and probably a thin layer of the surface material with a wire wheel. I hope this helps, if not I'll try to post some pics.
Thanks

Try some of Eastwood's "Diamond Clear:"

I guess the only thing I would add here is that since you haven't taken the surface down to a uniformly smooth finish, about the only way it will get any easier to keep clean is if you apply enough clear to flow out and completely fill in the leftover pores until the surface is level. I wouldn't attempt to apply any more than 3 coats for each recommended curing interval otherwise you'll have drying and adhesion problems.
