Yes, that's right folks. Fresh off of last week's release of this summer's ultimate shift-your-brain-into-neutral, CGI-dominated, action-stuffed, Robogasm, the Transformers crew is auctioning off the 1977 Chevy Camaro that stole the show playing Bumblebee. You can be the envy of car geeks and movie buffs alike, and all for a good cause.
The proceeds of the auction are going to the Fisher House Foundation, which helps out veterans by building homes to accommodate the families of injured military personnel.
As of this writing, the price was just over $12,000 - a hell of a deal, even if the car was lambasted for being a beater by the oh-so-delectable Megan Fox. And considering that the star spent some time in the passenger seat, we'd consider paying top dollar for the upholstery.
Top tip JW!

JasonD 07-09-2007, 09:55 AM Wonder if it also comes with that wild engine and the "bee-otch" air freshener?
Eric77TA 07-09-2007, 11:20 AM Price has already doubled to $24,000. I realize it's a "movie star" but pretty amazing when you consider what that car would go for if it weren't Bumblebee. Here in Missouri, the $4,000 that Sam pays for him in the movie would be high. With the stock motor that's like a $2,000 car tops.
Now, the bee-otch air freshener is probably worth another 20k, ;)
jg95z28 07-09-2007, 11:34 AM Only $12.99 for shipping? :D

right now $187 gets you the discoball & the bee-otch air freshener....I swear that's almost worth it to put in my future Camaro

Whenever I got home after seeing the movie I looked on ebay for a yellow 2nd gen. haha, figured I could sell my truck for more now than I will be able to in a year and a half or two years and I could drive the older (cheaper) version of bumblebee until then
shock6906 07-09-2007, 12:38 PM Wonder if it also comes with that wild engine and the "bee-otch" air freshener?
I was wondering the same thing...more about the engine than the air freshener though.

Yeah, like you wouldn't sit in that seat. ;) :p
blown383 07-09-2007, 12:43 PM Nice.... I wouldn't mind having that car!

zq8colorado04 07-09-2007, 12:51 PM 900 STRA, is there any meaning to that or is it just random numbers and letters?
Maybe I'll try to get that vanity plate when I pick up my Camaro...only a very select few would ever get the reference

The only thing I can get out of it is that it kinda could look like 2009 when reversed. Other than that, I couldn't tell ya.

Same thing I thought.
z28Power 07-09-2007, 04:38 PM I'm surprised they're already dumping the camaro from the movie, if this is really it anyway! I didn't go through the listing but if it is I'm sure they're providing some sort of paperwork/guarantee/etc. Personally the only way I'd be sure is if I picked it up from Michael Bay. :D
2000GTP 07-09-2007, 04:51 PM Sweet. I wonder how high the price will get before the auction ends.
DrewSG 07-09-2007, 06:25 PM I'll never look at 2nd gen Camaros the same way again.
Eddie Z-28 07-09-2007, 06:58 PM If they wanna make some real money, tell them to put the 2009 Bumblee Camaro up on ebay and lets see what kind of money it goes for. :D
jg95z28 07-10-2007, 11:59 AM Backwards its "ARTS 009". Is there anyone named Art involved with the movie or the Camaro?
BTW... "900 STRA" is currently available as a vanity plate in California. ;)

They're auctioning off a lot of props from the movie for charity. When you figure filming was finished over a year ago and the movie is just being released, why are you surprised?
Primus 07-10-2007, 05:05 PM I'm not so sure that this is a drivable car. It isn't listed under ebay motors and is described as a "set piece".

According to several online articles, the HBO First Look and some printed media, there were (3) of the Beater Bumblebees built for filming and all were equipped with GMPP 330HP crate engines. Who knows until you win it and find out though.
posaune 07-11-2007, 08:42 PM The BEE-otch air freshener, Dog and disco ball are now $3050.00!!! Holy crap, there are some people with WAY too much money hanging around.
DYezak 07-12-2007, 01:05 AM 900 STRA
In reverse it's ARTS 009...what I can get out of that that makes sense? A.R.T. 2009. It just seems to be a reference to the fact this is a 2009 Camaro. And in that case "A Real Trick 2009". Or maybe I'm just at work at Midnight and am tired and need sleep.
Nah...it's a real trick 2009

You seem to have missed my earlier comment...

My guess is there's a guy named Art involved somewhere.
bacatrane 07-12-2007, 12:37 PM I wonder if the guy who wins it is going to restore it?
GM LS-X 07-12-2007, 01:14 PM What's up with the Arts? Can't you see the Woods because all the Trees standing in the way? ;)
1997FormulaBird 07-12-2007, 09:15 PM I cant believe how much this stuff is going for!
The 77 is up to $30,200
3550 for the car props (Air freshener and disco ball)
1186 for the Bumblebee's California plate
20100 for the "All Spark" cube (Whats that even made of??)
This is ridiculous!
The movie wasn't [I]that[I]good
shock6906 07-13-2007, 09:18 AM The allspark is up to 40,000+ now... almost 10,000 more than the Camaro. I bet it's made out of plastic too. Anybody notice how there's a 15.00 shipping charge even though the items are going for several thousands of dollars? :p
posaune 07-13-2007, 12:39 PM I cant believe how much this stuff is going for!
The movie wasn't that good
Yes it was. If I had money to burn...I would bid but I don't.
It would be cool to get the Camaro, interior stuff and the plate.
Skull Leader 07-15-2007, 12:19 AM Some of those things are 1 of 1. If only you could get your hands on the boxing gloves from Rocky, the mask from Batman... If I had lots of money, I would gladly pay $100,000 for the Allspark.
LS1Kid717 07-15-2007, 02:38 AM wait i thought the bumblee bee car was a 74?
GhostZ28 07-15-2007, 05:23 AM The thing about movies is there are usually multiple stunt and lookalike cars, but one true hero car used in stand alone shots that arent moving, or only when the vehicle is in tow. Thats what they're auctioning, the hero car. The authentic "bumble bee"
metal 07-17-2007, 04:43 PM wait i thought the bumblee bee car was a 74?
74's had a different back window the cars in the movie were all 75 to 77's (my first Camaro was 76 back when I was 16)

Here is a nice quote from the article
And if the car goes in the direction the driver intends for it to go, that has little to do with feel-free steering. But come on. Old Camaros aren't new Camrys.
