Holy crap.. did it make the sound with the previous one too? has to be something moving. so I would check the clutch/flywheel area.

LOL my words where WTF!!
I am not sure if it made that noise with the other trans as the motor was un- corked.
I am going to pull it apart tonight and see whats up. I hope I left a bolt loose in the clutch but I think it is in the trans itself:cry:
My old WC T5 did that, but when that started I ripped it out and did a whole driveline swap so I never did figure out what the problem was. Basically I'm no help.

Yea. mine has a fwapping noise to it.. sorta like if you had cardboard fins on a fan and let it hit things.. But I KNOW mine is the clutch/flywheel. His just sounds scary...

buy a decently rebuilt T-5 and you won't have any problems

G-Force T5 at the minimum. The TKO600 is probably the best 5 speed that you can stick in the car.
Or you can stick a T56 in it...

Can you use same clutch, bellhousing and drive shaft with a t-56??

the clutch will be different.. the flywheel may be too... If it is going into a thirdgen there is one heck of an expense (just getting the transmission is just the beginning.. there are quite a few other parts.) Be easier in a 4th, since you could get OEM parts for it. Something to note though is I have heard the T56 is a good trans, but like any other manual it would need to be built if you start throwing down decent numbers to the rears. I have known a few that have killed those too. Stock t-5's are not exactly great. I would either have one rebuilt with better parts, or buy one already built to handle things.
If you get the one rebuilt that you have now. make sure it is a WC trans... if not throw away and find a WC trans to have rebuilt.
