how to check for bad fuel regulator?Wishmaster 07-08-2007, 01:21 PM I think im having an issue with a leaking fuel pressure regulator....its off the car.....how can I check to see if its bad? or if it leaks? Injuneer 07-08-2007, 02:03 PM Put a vacuum pump on the vacuum compensation port and see if it will hold a vacuum. Try holding it at about 20"Hg. Wishmaster 07-08-2007, 02:28 PM your gonna have to help me out here.....do you mean hook a vaccum up to the end where fuel goes in? and what do I do with the other end? plug it? or the other way around?..put the vaccum up to the end the fuel comes out and plug where it goes in? mdenz3 07-09-2007, 04:54 PM There should be a port on the regulator where a vacume line goes (will be a small bubber line that goes from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator). That is where you should hook up the vacume tester. Wishmaster 07-09-2007, 05:47 PM I called Kirban Performance where I got the regulator and he was very helpful. He told me that all a reg is nothing but a spring and diaphram...and even if there was a hole in it and would not hold pressure the car would have a very hard time firing up if at all.......says he is 100% percent sure that my problem is my injectors but if for some reason it was the then he would replace it.. mdenz3 07-09-2007, 05:53 PM Glad to hear Kirban was helpful to you. What exactly is the problem you are having? | ||
