It's gotta have the yellow paint and black stripes. The Autobot logo should be on the wheel center caps and on the headrests. Make the car look as it did in the movie.

For what the movie is doing for the car, I think they should have a BB package. Yellow with black stripes. Autobot logo under the words "Camaro" on the front fender. Autobot Logo on the steering wheel. Maybe something stitched into the seats. That would be good enough for me to buy one. Assuming it would be a V8.

While I think this would be great marketing for the camaro, I feel that if they overpackage the car it would force any real camaro enthusiast to feel like they had to purchase this vehicle, as it would be limited production and become a collector's item. I am not a huge fan of the color package but if they were producing this the first year I would feel like I needed to pick one up, as they probably would not keep producing it for multiple years, like the rest of the camaros.

It would be cool to have a special color package that looks like the bumblebee did in the movie - I wouldn't suggest going to much beyond that.

It doesn't need to be over the top.

A few Autobot logos, like I said, maybe a freer-flowing exhaust to give it a snarl. Has to have the yellow w/ black stripe layout. Make it available on V6 and SS models. Price it $1500 more than the MSRP for those trim levels. It'll sell.

I am not a fan of paint and sticker special editions but this is one I think would be worth offering from a marketing stand point.

The only problem is we don't have a Camaro now and the movie buzz will die down by the time the car comes out.

On the other hand when Transformers 2 comes out it might be wise to make 2000 of them and use them in promotions for the movie.

HELL YES i want to see a bumblebee edition... because i want to buy it!

however, i don't think the car needs any transformers stuff on it. simply sell me a Camaro in as close a color as possible to bumblebee and i'll get me some stripes and mod it the way i want.

so basically, just offer me a Camaro in the same (or very similar) color as Bumblebee and i'm happy! :D i was planning on buying a white Camaro, but since i've seen the movie, i totally want a yellow one now.

Gonna have to say yeah. But no autobot symbols or any thing like that on the body. The corvettes have the heat shield under the hood with the vette logo. That would be a good place for an autobot logo. Also a specific production # somewhere in the car. Over all I think subtlety would make for the best bumble bee edition 09

If your going to do one it needs to be the same color and stripes. No out side emblems or stickers. Make it specal but don't make it a circus wagon. Keep it tasteful.

At best a horn button or dash emblem would be all you need or wheel centers. But the color would have to be spot on. And I know it will be for a extra fee.

On the second though scratch the horn button. All you need is the air bag to go off and imprint it on your forehead and people will stare.

Not only is it a GREAT idea, i will be buying one.

I don't think many of you realize the impact that this movie is making. It has broken the world record for opening week (and the weeks not over yet!!!). Meaning, more people have paid to see this movie than Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Spiderman, Batman, etc etc etc.

Its not just some passing fad, it is going to revive a cult following. I don't know about you guys, but I still want an old trans-am every time i see smokey and the bandit!!

Its not like they have to make 50,000 Bumble Bee editions. Just a few thousand. God knows that Dodge is banking off there sticker/paint "special editions." Any idiot can see the profit potential.

Either way, I'll have the Anti-Bumblebee. I've always been a Decepticon fan, so I'd be more interested in having Decepticon insignia's on it.

I actually have a very tasteful metal Decepticon insignia pin that I'd be willing to purchase 2 more of, remove the 'pin' and have them attached to the 'CAMARO' on the sides of the car. That's as far as I'd go. Tasteful and subtle.

I would think if you put the logo in a clear pearl (like ghost flames) under the Camaro emblem on the sides it would rock. It wouldn't stand out and be gaudy, but if you really looked for it you could find it. Kind of along the whole Transformer "More than meets the eye" kind idea.

Yeah, between this thread and the "What color" thread, I'm pretty sure I'd go for a blue & white stripes instead of yellow & black.

Between all the people "claiming" they would buy "Bumblebee Edition", because of the movie, and others actually referring to the color scheme as "Bumblebee"....well, the silliness of that out-ways my desire to recreate the absolutely stunning (in my opinion) look of a yellow & black '69 Z28 on a 5th Gen.

But there were no Autobot insignia's on 5th Gen Bumblebee anyway.

So my suggestion is to just name the color yellow 'Bumblebee Yellow' and have the stripes as an option.

Buyers can add their own custom Autobot insignia's if they really want them (I doubt that many REALLY do).

Need to be careful in making generalizations. All that accomplishes is starting a flame war.

...............I consider anyone under 25 a kid!

Seriously though, I really have to wonder about how many of these people that want a "Bumblebee" would actually have the means to buy one. I DON"T want to start a war between younger and older guys, as I'm sure there's some 19 year olds that could afford a new Camaro (whether they actually earned it or had "Mommy & Daddy" pay for it) and I'm sure there's some 40 year olds who can't. But at the risk of "making generalizations", the younger someone is the less likely they'll be able to afford a $30,000+ new car (not to mention the insurance).

When I was 18, 19, 20....would I want a Bumblebee Camaro? Maybe
Would I be able to afford it? No way in hell.

I really have to wonder how many of those that "want" a Bumblebee "clowned up" would actually be in a position to buy one new when it comes out. If Scott (or anyone else at GM) is paying attention to this thread, I hope they take take that into consideration.

Honestly, believe it or not, this isn't to bash young Camaro guys. Hell, I used to be a "young Camaro guy" myself. I got a 7 year old Z28 when I was 18.

You need to realize that the average old school Transformers fan is 25-35. I think most people here would be surprised by the disposable income of the transformers fan base.

I am 32 myself. I can and will be spending a lot of money on a Camaro when they come out.

It's funny though because I think one of the main reasons people want a "Bumblebee" edition is because we haven't seen all that many different *official* colors of the new Camaro. While I say that I would want a Bumblebee edition now, when all the different color options are on the table I have a feeling my choice will change.

No disagreement there on disposable income. Considering that a 25 year old has probably been out of college and has established himself in the workplace for 2-3 years, that age range on up will be a substantial market for the 5th Gen.

I may be wrong, but you may be one of the exceptions at 32. I really suspect that the older people get, the less likely they'll be to want a car "decorated" with anything inspired by, and I've used this term before :p , a "cheesy 80's cartoon".

I've said before also that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the yellow & black color scheme, but the prospect of having "Transformer" or "Bumblebee" emblems, decals, or embroidery of any kind on the car absolutely makes me cringe.

Well, I'm probably the biggest Transformers fan on these boards (and a massive lurker, I'm here almost daily). I've been following the production of the movie since it was announced to be "in the works" over 3 years ago...had a huge number of the toys when I was younger, still purchase a couple now and then to randomly set on things around the apartment....nothing garish...just a couple of them in random places. Bunch of TF shirts from hot topic

Loved the movie, LOVED bumblebee....love camaros. My first performance car was a 1989 IROC-Z that I blew the engine in...and got it replaced with a 1986 vette engine from a junkyard...which proceeded to destroy the transmission and rear end, which I also replaced. Sucked up ALL my summer money, and was totally worth it. That car was a blast. Can you imagine a 16 year old driving around in something like that? (or for that matter a 17 year old in a '95 cobra....hehe, gotta love construction)

I'm 23....dropped out of highschool (which explains where I had the money for those cars lol) and got a late start on college (I've got a year and a half left), but I fully plan on getting a 5th gen, V-8 manual, when I'm graduated and working.

I probably wouldn't even consider getting one without that awesome yellow/black combo. It looks great. But I say NO to any kind of external autobot badging. It'd be tacky. I'll put my OWN autobot sticker in the rear window, thank you.

For the inside, if they actaully made a package like this (which they might cuz the next film will be coming out either when the car is released or a couple months after).....I'd want blue interior lighting (autobot eyes are all blue), a little autobot symbol on the steering wheel like the '74 camaro had in the movie, MAYBE special bumblebee seats with a yellow/black leather combination...and that's it. I'd prolly be willing to pay 1500 to 2000 extra for the package. Then I'll get the "Bee-otch" air freshener lol (did you guys catch that in the movie?)

I would not want anything on the exterior of the car to indicate what it was other than the special yellow/black combination.

Also, it's not a pure yellow. It's got some orange in it. It's certainly nothing like the screaming yellow that Vette's get. Perhaps this special version of yellow would only be available on the package?

I mean dang guys, look how much dodge banked off the the "Rumble-Bee" and "Daytona" packages that were mostly if not all appearance upgrades. And rather flamboyant at that!!

Here is Landon's Bumble-Bee Camaro Package.

Yellow Paint
Black Stripes
Rims from movie (same rims as concept duh)
Autobot symbol on steering wheel
Autobot symbol on engine
Exhaust upgrade (could be same upgrade that LS3 vettes can opt for)

This could be roughly a 1000 dollar option (more if rims are costly) and would definately sell. Not to mention it would appease transformers fans while keeping the old guys from pitching a fit about its childishness. It would be very tasteful IMHO

So long as it looks EXACTLY as it did in the movie, sure why not.

I love the bumblebee color. Yes i do think they should at least make this color and striping. I think the interior should also match the exterior, kinda like the 2nd gen in the movie. That car looked like fun. Black and yellow leather seats. Maybe a different grill and to conceal the headlamps a little bit. I don't really care for the concept grill a whole lot. Perhaps a lil more agressive exhaust note. And maybe a cool gadget or two inside the cockpit. Maybe an autobot logo on a performance steering wheel.

I wouldn't want a car that looks like a banana.
