Apparently they're currently using these in Formula 1 racing. The site claims that you can have a prototype set of headers mocked up in a few hours. Might prove to be a useful tool for a guy who wants to mock up his own turbo manifolds, or perhaps some headers that would work with an aftermarket set of 18* or 15* heads.

Wow!! For an exhaust shop that would be incredible. You could easily make enough to cover your investment in those with a handful of custom headers. If they weren't so much I would get a set so I could fab up custom headers for my BBC project.

1200 bucks for a Mock up??
Lemmons only charges 100 for the headers them selves. Cool idea but way over priced IMO.

Fixed it for you :) A shop, like Lemmons and Kooks could easily make that up with their retail prices and the material and time saved would be well worth it. For the individual I agree, way over priced, but not for someone who does volume.

Oop's that would be one heck of a sale. They are actually 1175 plus shipping uncoated. I am getting a spread port set made for my new heads :)
I agree for a header shop they would be useful, but for the homebuilder to build them and send them in would be a little much.
Cool idea though.

You're forgetting one minor detail Kimo Sabe.
From Lemon's "FAQ" section:
I have a car that is not on your Product List can I still have a set of headers made?
Yes, but you will have to bring your car to our shop. We will build headers and exhaust systems to any car brought to our shop. Please call ahead of time to schedule an in shop custom.
The beauty of this idea is that you can mock up your headers exactly the way you want, in your own garage on your own time, as many times as you care to, and with an infinite margin of error. If you're building something who's exhaust criteria won't be met by an off the shelf header, unless you can manage to get your car with engine installed to a shop like Lemon's, you're SOL.
Granted, this isn't going to be something for everybody, but a little info sharing never hurts.

lol
i think the idea is that they are meant for custom fabrication shops to buy and use repeatedly, not for a single car owner to use once.
im sure its well worth the money

Those have been around for a couple years, cool idea...but too expensive for the small shop or individual who might only use them once in a while.
