1.25 Spacers...courtesy of Ebay.
=========================
Thank you guys.
to answer your questions:
1. The wheels are O.E.M. 2006 Corvette wheels. 18x9 (245/40/zr18) Front 19x 10 Rear (285x40xzr19)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/dannycam/7777.jpg
When I first bought them.
Specifications:
• Bolt Circle 5X4.75
• Offset +54 (18 inch Wheels)
• Offset +79 (19 inch Wheels)
2. The day I bought them, I decided that I couldnt wait to put them on, and I installed them at about 9:00 at night. I got the front two on just as fast as it took me to take my current 18's off. NO problem. No spacers. Nothing.
3. I got to the rear, and I immediately noticed a problem. I pulled the wheel off, massaged the inner wheel wells, as well as the quarter panel inner section, with no results.
4. I decided to buy some bolt in adapters, through ebay, being that I found the best price (I beleive it was around $60 for a set of rear spacers 1.25" including locking bolts.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/dannycam/P1010029.jpg
(ebay item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8037981838&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT)
5.In terms of installation, I found that the spacers were cake to put on, but the only thing one should keep in mind is that you want to make sure that they are completely hub centric.
6. The only issue that I've had, and to be honest, its partly my fault, is the rubbing. I have a set of eibachs on my car, and I lowered it even more in the rear...during a hard bump I rub...but no biggie...Ill get over it!
Hope this helps.

BandDirector Blk98ZM6 07-15-2007, 04:04 PM THANK YOU! I just bought a set of these in silver and was wondering what it would take if I decided to use them...
So NO spacers on the front and 1.25" on the rear? I've also pondered just getting another pair of the 18's and going 18's all the way around.
I will have to have the compter reflashed for the different size tires, correct? I've already had a dynotune done and the and I can have that done for free.
DontMixWithRice 07-15-2007, 11:15 PM i never reflashed the computer, but yeah, it might throw off ur speedometer a bit.
i have two set of 1.25" spaces for sale.
im selling them for $40 shipped. let me know, and i can get you pics if you like
camarolt4ss 07-19-2007, 11:54 AM let me ask u this.... i have a wilwood rear brake kit... it has a 2.75 offset on it.... so do u think i will be fine with out the spacers? as well, could i go to a larger rear such as a 11" or 12" with the offset being
19x11 +64mm
19x12 +59mm
thnx

YGM...I am interested in at least one set of spacers, and MAYBE both sets.

What size are the tires? If you pick a tire size that matches the outside diameter of your current tires (the size programmed into your PCM), you don't have to do anything.

What do you mean when you say your brake kit has a 2.75" offset? Does the brake kit change the location of the hub face that the wheels mount to?
BandDirector Blk98ZM6 08-05-2007, 02:10 PM What size are the tires? If you pick a tire size that matches the outside diameter of your current tires (the size programmed into your PCM), you don't have to do anything.
The stock PCM is programmed for 25.7" tires, correct? The stock C6 285/35/19 are 1.2" taller than that which will throw the speedo off by 3 MPH at 65 MPH. That's enough, IMO, to go ahead and have the speedo recalibrated.
However, I just bought the stock C6 rims, so I'm thinking I'm going with 275/30/19's in the rear which are 25.5" tall, which will only put me 4/10th's of a MPH off at 65 MPH. For the fronts, I'm thinking I'm going with 255/35/18's, but there's a possibility I might get another set of the stock 19's and go with the 275/30/19's all the way around. The only downside to that is that I'm going to have to run spacers on all 4 corners.
One more question...I've heard that if you run staggered diameters on F-Bodies and the overall diameter front to back is more than an inch, then it will set the ABS light on. The stock C6 sizes are 1.13" off front to rear, so I'm curious if anyone is running stock C6 tires, is your ABS light on?
drJsl2008 09-14-2007, 04:23 PM In the original it says the tires slightly rub on big bumps because of the eibachs. Are they sportlines or the pro-kit? thanks
95Z6SPVERT 09-19-2007, 10:31 AM Installing a set on mine as well. Will I require a larger spacer for a convertible?
Injuneer 10-14-2007, 12:04 PM The stock PCM is programmed for 25.7" tires, correct?
Depends which tires came on the car. V6's and base V8 models had 26.17" diameter tires, the V8's that came with the Z-rated tire option had 25.65" diameter tires.

ABS is triggered by the velocity of each individual wheel, as it approaches "0". It isn't activated by small differences in the velocity of the front and rear wheels.
Installing a set on mine as well. Will I require a larger spacer for a convertible?
There is no significant difference in the wheel wells between a coupe and a convertible, in the 4th Gens.
mcalus 10-15-2007, 10:38 AM Anymore pics of them on 98 and up LS1 Camaro????
Thanks!!!
BandDirector Blk98ZM6 10-15-2007, 08:49 PM Anymore pics of them on 98 and up LS1 Camaro????
I should soon. All I have left is have the tires mounted and balanced. I'm going to try and get that done in the next week or so.
HLY_SHFT 10-18-2007, 02:51 PM I have them. Here's a photo, unlowered:

I am running the OE tires on the rear and Rikens on the front. I am using 3/4" worth of spacers on either rear side, and extended studs (Dorman, I believe; possibly Moroso but I know they aren't race studs). I have had them for about 3 months now, and I have had no unusual tire wear, rubbing, or camber issues. I'm on stock struts/springs. I have not had any lights come on (ABS, etc)
Problems:
My TCS seems to be acting up, but I can't prove it just yet. It just... feels like it's behaving weird.
My speedometer is OFF. At 51MPH, it jumps directly to 56.8, as found by GPS when we finally decided to see why I kept getting pulled over for speeding.
BandDirector Blk98ZM6 10-20-2007, 04:22 PM Thanks for posting those pics! Mine are in silver as well. However, I'm a little disturbed by the 2nd picture. The 18" front rim looks SUBSTANTIALLY smaller than the rear 19" rim. Did you resize the photo before posting and it's the photo, or is the front to rear rim size really that noticeable in person? The first and last pictures look good, but I'm now really concerned after seeing the side shot. If it's not a resized photo issue, I may try to find another pair of 19's for the front and go 19's all the way around.
HLY_SHFT 10-21-2007, 09:25 PM It's more of the fact that the parking lot isn't the flattest surface, one, and two, my car needs to be lowered horribly. Honestly, I have to STARE at the picture to see the difference, and I sell rims for a living. I just thumbed through my photos and can't find any side shots of the car aside from that one. I might try to take some more of it on Monday at work, but I can tell you that the photo was resized outside of a professional program (I used MSPaint, not my normal PSP7) and that may have a lot to do with it.
I really think it has a lot to do with the car needing to be lowered, hence why I keep asking what drop rate people are running. A single inch isn't going to cut it for me.
dbrown 10-24-2007, 09:03 PM I would also like to know about having 18's all around. Im going to buy some c6 rims very soon and I think I will do 18's all around. Do the 18 fits nicely with no rubbing?
HLY_SHFT 10-31-2007, 05:50 PM Here's better pictures. Washed my car today for the first time since May.

HLY_SHFT I love the rims on the white car.:)
BandDirector Blk98ZM6 11-03-2007, 02:19 PM HLY SHFT, those are MUCH better pictures! However, I'm really thinking I'm still going to go 19's all the way around. However, it looks like I may have to buy a whole 2nd set to get a total of 4 19x10's, so I'd then have to sell the 4 18x8.5's in silver.
dBrown, from what I can tell about going with 18x8.5's all the way around, it is very possible, however the rear's only need a 3/4" spacer. Unfortunately, I can' find adapters in 3/4", so you'd either have to go with a 1" adapter to make the rear 18's fit, or go with a 5/8" or 3/4" adapter plate and longer studs to make the rears fit.
Tire sizes with the 18x8.5's are pretty much 2 choices: 245/40/18 are the stock diameter (25.7") or you can go a little wider with a 255/35/18, but they're only a 25" diameter which will throw your speedo off my 3 MPH at 60 MPH if you don't change the computer.
droptopta69 01-23-2008, 07:01 PM if i used 17s on my 95 ta would i need spacers?
Injuneer 01-29-2008, 01:44 PM if i used 17s on my 95 ta would i need spacers?
Since there are no factory 17" C06 wheels, you would have to tell us the width and offset (or backspace) of the aftermarket 17" C06 replica wheels you are asking about. That info is needed to determine if you need spacers or not.

I have some 19" Foose rims and I need some new tires, just wondering what you are running...thanks!
PWR-TRIP 03-24-2008, 02:42 PM ^ I'm running 275/30/19 on the rears with 9.5 rims.
They are "General Exclaim UHP" tires
HLY_SHFT 04-13-2008, 06:09 PM Wow, 30 series? That's what I had on my Supra, I couldn't stand those bastards. How come you didn't do the 275/35/19 at least? I know Nitto does the 555, although, I guess those would be a little narrow.. still, on a 9.5 I think it'd be okay. My 275s were on a 10.5.... big no-no.
96badaSS 04-18-2008, 11:15 PM How do the rear wheels look in person? Do they stick out or look odd in the wheel well?
PWR-TRIP 04-19-2008, 12:46 PM I have alot of fender gap on the rear (Sunken battleship) I'm thinking of getting 1' spacers to wide them out alittle. If i would have known this from before, i would NOT have gone with C6 rims.
Meister Bill 04-22-2008, 01:22 PM Safety Note: Be careful with the eBay spacers. I bought a pair about a year ago and 3 of the 10 studs snapped off on me after changing the wheels only twice. Fortunately, they snapped while I was mounting the tire, and not while driving! These spacers are listed with a grade 8 stud. I replaced all the studs with grade 10s from NAPA and have not had any problems since.

I don't think there actually IS a "Grade 10" bolt. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure SAE bolts and studs are only rated from 1 through 8.
Unless you have aftermarket axles (which typically switch to a 1/2"-20 lug size, in Grade 8), it's likely a metric M12x1.5 stud that snapped. If so, that would be a Class 8.8 stud (about equiv to a Grade 5 in SAE ratings). A 9.8 might have sufficed, but a Class 10.9 metric stud is plenty (no need for a Class 12.9... more maintenance).

I stand corrected. The NAPA studs are the Class 10.9. :D

Wolves11 05-27-2008, 03:08 PM Have taller tires in back than in front. Fronts are stock height, rears are 1" taller, trips abs inop light. Is there a programmer or a tuner that can reconfig for diff sizes in front and rear. I know hypertech makes one, but it changes for all 4 corners, need to sep front and rear.
number1 06-30-2008, 08:46 AM I have read the FAQ and done a minor bit of searching. I have been looking at new rims for my 1996 Z28. I wanted 18's all around or 18/19 combo but wanted feedback if anyone has used this type of setup on a lowered camaro before. I have QA1 coilovers and the eibach prokit. I current have ZR-1's with 275/40/17s on all four corners, and I am very sick of that look. Any help would be appreciated.

I use the Doorman studs from O'Reilly's. It was that or Moroso, which they were out of. They have held up plenty well so far.

should i go with a 285/35 or 285/40 in the rear?
96badaSS 07-29-2008, 02:07 AM Well, Thanks for the advice guys, I ordered some 5 x 4.75 1.25" thick aluminum adapters on eBay for about $80, and the wheels cleared perfectly and look great! (although I did have to have the hub opening machined about 1/16" bigger to clear the hub, no big deal though) The fronts bolted on perfectly and the car looks awesome with the staggered chrome vette wheels! Next will be adapting C6 brakes (any information on the REAR brake swap would be greatly appreciated!). Thanks again guys for your help!

i'm running the exact same set-up you're running w/ the eibach sportlines.i'm having problems with my tires rubbing on the outter fender lip and the inner fender on hard turns. and it will rub the outter fender lip going over bumps and dips in the road sometimes.
i've rolled the fenders a bit, but it still needs more.. and i've installed an adj. panhard bar which helped alot, i'm just waiting to get it into an alignment shop to get it aligned perfect... hoping that will solve the issue. it's been a bit of a pain getting them to stop rubbing. what spacers are you using?
here's a pic... worth it imo cause i love the look. don't mind the dirt in the first pic... it got a nice bath later that day.

roadgod 01-06-2010, 01:14 AM I am running black chrome C6 replicas 18 X 9.5 all around with Michelin PS2 275/35/18 tires. These have pretty close specs to the stock tire as to rpm's, height, so forth.(stock16 X 8 with 245/50/16) I haven't had to use any spacers, or touch the pcm.

350350 01-31-2010, 04:35 PM OK so I read the whole thread so I may have missed these things, but...
1) On the 'ebay spacers'... there was the post about the studs, stud grades, studs breaking... for sure agreed. What I wonder also though is about the actual material properties of the aluminum? Are they billets or castings, and does it matter for this purpose? Essentially, if that spacer cracks or disintegrates, the wheel is coming off regardless of what the studs are made of.
2) Are all C6 wheels the same offset (and/or backspacing) regardless of the year or style?
3) I like the all-black wheels, but how do you get tires on them without at leas a small 'bare metal' ring for the tire machine to press on? Or do you have to paint/coat them with the tires already mounted???
4) Prices! I'm old and poor. I know deals on used OEM wheels vary wildly, but would I be kidding myself to think I could put a set of C6 wheels and tires on my 4th gen for $1000?
350350 02-02-2010, 03:51 PM OK so I found a set of 2005 Z51 bare wheels for $500... 18x8.5/19x10.
1) Are they all the same offset, as given at the beginning of this post? Meaning, these are off a Vert and I'm assuming that doesn't matter.
2) What does the 'polished' finish actually mean for a GM wheel? I've seen silver and I've seen chrome, but these look like actually just bare polished aluminum in the photos the guy sent.
350350 02-03-2010, 03:40 PM OK Injuneer, this one is for you and your math skills!!!
I get all the recalibration and gearing stuff related to putting bigger wheels on. In this case, I'm going to the 19" wheels and the step up in tire diameter depending on size. So gearing will make up for the larger diameter, and recalibrating the PCM will 'fix' the speedometer.
However, the increase in spinning *mass* also has to reduce power beyond just the gearing/diameter issue. And I wonder just how much of a reduction that is in power. Is it significant, or negligible?
And is there a formula to find that loss, even roughly or as an estimate?
350350 02-12-2010, 06:07 PM I sent a couple of PM's to the guys in this thread that said they had spare billet spacer/adapters for the C6/4th Gen rears, but notta...
If anyone still has 2 they want to sell cheap, I just scored a sweet set of C6 wheels and will be putting them on in a week or 2. Will need lugs/nuts/wheel locks and adapters for the rear...
HLY_SHFT 02-16-2010, 06:19 PM I just used regular spaces purchased from American Tire Distributors and used extended studs in the rear. All of the C6 wheels should be the same offset, I think it's +53? Something ridiculously high.
For those of you who didn't, you absolutely do need to fix your speedo. Mine was off progressively more and more beyond 50 MPH. I went in with HPtuners and sorted it out, but I know there are people who haven't.
