New Best

Well I know June really isn't the time that you would set a new best, but I did and I couldn't believe it. On Sat night I went to my local track to get some practice for next weekends pts race. I wasn't expecting much and got a 6.87 in the 1/8, about what I was thinking, but I also know that the first pass is alway junk. The next pass was a 6.81 with a 1.42 60ft and the front wheels about 18in off the ground, that continued for the next few passes and then on the last pass of the night I had a 1.41 60ft, my buddy said it looked like the front tires were at least 2ft off the ground, and I shifted into 2nd gear while the front end was still in the air and ran a 6.79. I can't wait to see what it runs this fall.

Those are some impressive times. It should be incredible once you get some zero DA to run in.

Those are really great 1/8 mile times and according to my calculations they would be 10.60s in the 1/4! I assume they are all NA as well.

Ya, it's all motor and I believe that there is more to be had in the topend of the tune, but you guys know how it goes, alot of trial and error.

my 10.60 pass shows 6.77 in the 1/8th to give you an idea.

So, my calucations were correct! He has a 10.60 car and that is serious fast for a NA LT car!

Great times! It sounds like a little suspension work may be in order to keep that nose down.

It's kind of hard to keep the front down on a stock suspended car. I have try travel limiters later, but to really keep the front down you would really need to backhalf/4-link it and I'm not there yet.

Front end limiters will work fine with some trial and error. What compression and how nasty is that cam? Just wondering if this is a streetable combo, engine wise. I'd love to try 5.13's and a th350/30" slicks sometime, not sure if I could get them to fit.

The compression is 12:1 and the cam really isn't that big, 249/254 @.050 .621/.621 lift. You should try the gears and tires I love them, and I didn't have much trouble at all getting them to fit.
