installed pro kit, now which header's

Just got the eibach pro kit on my car, it looks nice and rides even better. I'm running out of mods to do, I think headers are next. Which long tubes will give me the best ground clearance for a daily driver commuter?

There are about 10 brands of LT headers for F-bodies... some of the more common ones include:

Dynatech, Kooks, Pacesetter, Hooker, etc.

As long as you're getting a 1-3/4" primary, they should all make around the same peak power. However, the longer the header, the more torque it will make (shoot for 32-34" headers)

There's not a major difference in ground clearance unless you include SLP headers on the list. Pacesetters aren't bad if you want a budget header. Otherwise, a QTP or Kooks header are nice stainless pieces. The trick is probably going to be in mounting the y-pipe. My mechanic suggested flex couplers off of the collector to go with my Pacesetter y-pipe.

as long as you don't get a set of the SLP long tubes, you will be fine. I went for a set of the dynatechs with their catted y-pipe. Great stainless headers, welds are good, and best of all, the instructions are really idiot proof.

Man, i really don't want to be 'that' guy, but i have those same headers available if you are interested. They are in good shape, the ypipe might be show some scuff marks because of a few speed bumps. I never slammed them hard but always took the bumps at angles. Also, i think the cats might need to be replaced.

I know its doesnt sound new, but, i'll get rid of them for a good price. PM if your interested. I got some pics if you want them.

So, if you do go long tubes, pacesetters are a good value for mild steel. I think the kooks are a bit over priced and the SLP are out of the question with that drop.

LAterZ!

will headers effect a future upgrade of a super or turbo charger?

Hookers and Jethots fit great without any clearance problems. When I got done with the install on a buddy's car I could stick my finger between the y-pipe and everything that it was close to. And his is lowered and had no ground clearance issues either.

If you go supercharger then headers are a must. If you go turbo then you'd have to take the headers off.

Well, unless you went with a rear-mount turbo, but who wants to do that? :blah:

interestingly, some have seem some actual lose of efficiency when going to long tubes and a rear mount turbo. Long tubes would be great with an Procharger or a KB, but that is it unless you want to go N/A plus spray!
