I've been doing a lot of research online and I can't seem to find an adapter that'll let me add an aux input directly to my Monsoon single-CD head unit (02 Formula). In my last car, I was able to use the Soundgate AUXGMV3 and Universal iPod Interface so that all you saw was a single black cable which charged the iPod and played it through the stereo. Control was maintained throught the iPod itself. Short of swapping out the head unit, is there a way to make this work?
If I do swap out the HU (I have a Pioneer DEH-P6800M sitting in my closet) do I need to bypass the factory amp assuming that I leave the stock speakers? What about if I replace the speakers and use my Alpine 4-way amp? Finally, am I right that there's a dedicated sub in the Monsoon system? If so, can I run an aftermarket sub from that line? Thanks in advance for patience with a noob.
