Is there a skinny (other than the spare) that will clear stock brakes without modification? How about larger brakes like the C5 brakes? I'd like to keep it simple and just bolt them on without modification.

Yes, Bogarts. quicksilver97ta 06-22-2007, 09:17 AM Very cool, thanks. :D CamaroRacing12 06-23-2007, 07:05 PM hav fun paying for em tho... :( The Engineer 06-23-2007, 09:58 PM Is there a skinny (other than the spare) that will clear stock brakes without modification? If so, Weld Alumistar 2.0s will fit up-front, that is what I have on my 97 Z28. However, if you've added the large brakes and rotors, you're going to have trouble with any 15" wheel. Weld Alumistar 2.0s ? Those look good, very similar to the Bogarts I'm considering. The Bogarts go for over $500 a pair (I wrote it down at work), what do those Alumistars go for?? I'm looking for something similar to ProStars, that's what I have for the 68 and they will need to pull double duty. rje 06-28-2007, 08:18 PM Hey engineer, sweet wheels!! I may have to get me some of those. Randy The Engineer 06-28-2007, 09:30 PM Hey engineer, sweet wheels!! I may have to get me some of those. Randy Thanks for the compliment! BTW nice rims on the trailer too:cool: The Engineer 06-29-2007, 05:24 AM what size on the rear? BTW nice rims on the trailer too:cool: The rear Alumistars are 15" x 10" w/ 7" back-spacing. That configuration fits the standard 4th-Gen rear-end width, with no tire rub in the inner fender well with this wheel. Those wheels on the trailer are some classic Pontiac wheels with beauty rings from the early 70s (I believe). 15" x 7' w/ 5 on 5 bolt pattern, not sure exactly what Pontiac they are from. WD Javier97Z28 06-29-2007, 10:28 AM Using a 5/16" spacer on the front I could fit a regular ProStar 3.5" with no problems. http://www.zmydust.com/images/techinin.jpg rje 06-29-2007, 11:25 AM I had to do the same thing until I installed my Aerospace front brakes, then I didn't have to have the spacer anymore. Randy The Engineer 06-29-2007, 12:35 PM Same thing with my car. When the front pads and rotors were old and worn, the Alumistars fit w/o any problem. However, when I installed new pads and rotors it moved the calipers outward into the spokes and I had to use a 5/16 spacer. In-fact, I made my own spacers from 5/16 sheet aluminum because the spacers you buy look like crap! And, you see the spacers between the spokes on the Alumistars. Prostars might not have that problem. Here is a picture of the wheel and spacer which is the same diameter of the hub on the rotor. You can't really tell the spacer is there until you look real close. WD PS: I'm still headed to WPB next month. http://shutter06.pictures.aol.com/data/pictures/13/001/1F/59/1E/0C/UafwMqbVnzj0E45W9aSeCIgcMxII2wwJ0300.jpg Injuneer 06-29-2007, 06:24 PM The Weld Pro-Stars cover the spacers, except for the edge. These are painted black, along with the hats: http://www.injuneer.com/images/photos/WheelsTires/DCP04311.jpg smoknta 07-02-2007, 11:13 AM Yeah I had to run a specer on my weld prostars as well. The caliper cleared fine, but I put new rotors and pads on at the same time and it pushed the pad clip out far enough to hit the wheel. But the spacer fixed it no problem. Though Bogart's, or the XP series from Weld are designed for larger brakes, I have LS1 front brakes on my car and i run the M/T ET Drag front without a problem Vicious95Z28 01-07-2008, 05:29 PM I Know This Is Old But I've Come To The Stage Where I Either Want To Research Drag Brakes Or Solutions To Making Drag Type Wheels Work With The Stockers. Basically It Seems As Though A 5/16 Spacer Is All That's Needed But Doesn't It Caouse The Wheels To Stick Out In The Front? Or, Is It Moe Or Less The Size And Type Of Tires Being Used That Makes Them Look That Way? CamaroRacing12 01-08-2008, 08:05 PM ok not meaning to thread hijack but i have a few questions about the 15x3.5 prostars wat backspace is required? All u need is a 5/16 spacer? with the spacer will these fit the stock studs? they look kinda short.... Gear Jammer 01-08-2008, 08:52 PM Please remember also that the Bogarts are NOT recommended for street use. They are extremely light; one curb and they're junk! Holeshot makes a nice wheel like the Bogarts that is lighter than the Welds. Very hight quality wheel. I had the Holestar model on my '95 Impala SS and they cleared that set-up just fine. I plan to use them on my Z28 as well. Also, I drove them on the street a couple times and they lived under the 4,000 lb. B-body. Injuneer 01-09-2008, 12:34 PM ok not meaning to thread hijack but i have a few questions about the 15x3.5 prostars wat backspace is required?
